    About Sunrise of Bethesda

Sunrise of Bethesda sits on Battery Lane in Bethesda, Maryland, where residents get easy city access and views from a mid-rise, nine-story building, and the staff, including their contact Priyanka Tyagi - Lazarte and a nursing director with ten years of experience, help seniors with daily activities, medication, bathing, and more, so people who move in don't have to worry as their needs change over time because care ranges from independent living to assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, hospice, respite stays, and even in-home Dignity Home Care, with on-site nurses, a doctor on call, and regular visits from healthcare professionals like podiatrists, dentists, and therapists, which makes it easier for residents to get help without having to leave. The community offers a range of floor plans including studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and semi-private rooms, all inside a clean, newer building with lots of decorations, a welcoming lobby, and spaces for residents to socialize, so most folks find a room that fits what they want and need, and the monthly rent covers many essentials but depends on the type of care required and has a one-time community fee when a resident moves in. Meals come prepared every day with vegetarian options available, and the chef makes seasonal dishes so residents don't have to fuss, and staff offer help for people with diabetes, bowel and bladder incontinence, as well as assisted transfer for those who need help moving between bed and wheelchair, plus staff are always there, day and night, ready for emergencies or just everyday support. There's a secured memory care area called the Reminiscence Neighborhood and the Terrace Club that's set up for people with Alzheimer's or dementia who wander or have behaviors that might cause worry, with programs that try to keep memory care residents engaged, safe, and calm, and the staff use care plans made for each resident because everyone is different as they age. Folks with pets under 25 pounds can keep them, which many find comforting, and the building is non-smoking indoors. Activities run daily, both inside and out-gardening, music with a therapy app, movement classes, and social events-and there's transportation for outings or appointments, so people get involved in the community or make doctor visits easier, with devotional or spiritual services held on Fridays and from other denominations as well, so those who want to keep up with their faith have a way to do so. A beautician onsite helps with grooming, giving residents a way to look and feel good without leaving home, and indoor or outdoor common spaces offer a spot for chatting, relaxing, or just passing the time. The community puts a big focus on helping people stay as independent as possible with structured programs and individualized attention while supporting families and residents through changing health and care needs, using years of experience and research to guide what they do, and because services cover everything from short stays, hospice, and skilled nursing, people can age in place, which matters when moving is hard as mobility or memory changes. Sunrise of Bethesda tries to make life better for seniors by offering the right mix of safety, social engagement, city access, and medical support, so while no place fits everyone the same way, this community has put in place the basics and the supports that most seniors and families look for as care needs start to change.

    About Sunrise Senior Living

Beginning with a single community in 1981, there are now more than 280 Sunrise Senior Living communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Each of our communities maintains the mission laid out by Sunrise founders Paul and Terry Klaassen more than 40 years ago: to champion quality of life for all seniors. The Klaassens’ vision to redefine senior care resulted in a resident-centered approach to care that focuses on the individuality of each resident and has set the standard in the assisted living industry. We are defined by our people. Our team of serving hearts are guided by our mission, Principles of Service and Values – all of which help encourage independence, preserve dignity and enable freedom of choice for each resident.
