    Small well-kept home, caring staff

I live here and it feels like a small, well-kept home. The LPN owner and staff are caring and attentive, help with meds, and make sure I'm well cared for. My private room has a TV, the food is very good (my appetite improved), and the grounds, front porch and back deck are lovely. Activities are offered - staff can be a bit pushy about joining, but overall it's great value and I would recommend it.

    About Benevolent Care Corporation

Benevolent Care Corporation has provided senior living services since 2010 in Bowie, Maryland, where it's located at 15912 Pointer Ridge Dr in a quiet residential area with big trees and shrubs that make the yard peaceful and shaded, so it's good for folks who want time outdoors, and they aim to keep everything calm and safe for the residents. They offer different care types for seniors, including supportive living, independent living, Alzheimer's care, assisted living, respite care for short-term stays, and skilled nursing services that cover things like round-the-clock care, rehabilitation, nursing, wound care, and therapy. There are several smaller group homes, such as Benevolent Care I, EVA CARE ASSISTED LIVING, BOWIE SPRING ASSISTED LIVING, ELSIE'S PLACE ASSISTED LIVING, SPRINGTIME HOME III, YMC ASSISTED LIVING, HOME AWAY FROM HOME, and GREEN HAVEN ASSISTED LIVING, most of which hold about five to eight people, providing a more personal touch where staff can pay close attention to everyone. Residents get help with daily activities like meals, medication, bathing, dressing, and there's a strong focus on keeping seniors comfortable, cared for, and engaged, whether through social activities, outdoor time, or memory care for those who need it.

Several communities under their umbrella, like WillBur Assisted Living, Haven Ridge, Angels Alert Care, Nu-Concept Home Finding Inc., and others such as Serenity Assisted Living II and Wellness Assisted Living LLC, share resources and expertise, so everyone benefits from a wider range of support and ideas. There's also a network with bigger names like Brookdale Woodward Estates, Arbor Terrace of Greenbelt, and Ovalstone Comfort Home, and they all offer a variety of levels of care, so seniors can move between settings as needs change without having to leave the larger community. Families often mention attentive staff and a warm, close-knit feeling, and while most reviews are positive, there've been some comments about visitation restrictions, which isn't unusual these days.

People who need short stays or temporary help can take advantage of respite care, and folks who like a more independent lifestyle can choose independent living setups that come with extra support available as needed. Memory care communities have specially trained staff and set up safe, structured programs for people with Alzheimer's and dementia, so they get stimulation but also stay protected. There's always a nurse on-call, and doctors and dentists visit, plus specialists for podiatry, physical therapy, and speech therapy work with residents as needed. Meals cover both nutrition and taste, with different diets considered, and there's always a choice of indoor or outdoor dining and social areas. Housekeeping, laundry, safety checks, and transportation get handled for everyone.

Daily life brings planned activities for social, mental, and physical engagement, including exercise, games, music, and art, and there's time for prayer or spiritual reflection as well. Amenities include beauty and barber services, private or semi-private rooms, high-speed internet, wheelchair-accessible showers, resident parking, and pet options for those who want animals around, but there's no indoor smoking allowed at any of their sites. Prices vary, but for assisted living services, the cost averages around $6,055 per month, and they keep things straightforward by offering advice and planning for moving in, long-term insurance, legal help, and even senior moving services.

Benevolent Care Corporation isn't open to the public on weekends, but business hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, and they have customer care available during these times to answer questions. Their website, assistedlivinghomesbowie.com, has easy-to-find information, educational videos, checklists, and articles to help families decide what works best, plus there's a free advisor service where locals help families figure out which living arrangement fits each person's needs and budget. Overall, there are plenty of options, and the houses and programs suit seniors who want safety, comfort, steady support, and a sense of belonging, with everything pretty close to local shopping, churches, and medical offices.
