    Clean caring home, supportive staff

I placed my relative in this small converted home and we've had a great experience - it's clean and has a friendly, caring staff (Susie is a godsend). My relative is adapting and likes it; staff are excellent, there's 24-hour coverage with a nurse supervisor, PT visits, and VA hospital transport available. Rooms are shared and it's not top-line luxury; activities are limited and residents are mostly sedentary, though there are occasional trips to Atlantic City and Baltimore museums. Overall, I'm pleased.

    About Pear Tree Manor

Pear Tree Manor sits on a quiet private road near major highways, and folks will notice right away how it looks like a well-kept rancher with a shake roof and plenty of outside space, and even though it was built back in 1990, the place has a warm home-like feeling, with four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and about 2,500 square feet inside, so it feels spacious but not too big to keep track of. The house is organized as an assisted living community for up to eight residents, so people who move in usually get plenty of personal care and attention, and each person has a unique service plan that matches their needs, whether that's help with bathing, dressing, medication, or getting around. Pear Tree Manor provides both shared and private bedroom options, and every room comes with a phone and basic furnishings, and there are some nice features like a garage, a fireplace for cozy days, and even a finished basement for more space. There's round-the-clock staff supervision, they support non-ambulatory care, help folks transfer in and out of bed or the shower, and support those who need two-person transfers or insulin injections.

Meals are homemade and served three times daily in a dining room where people can choose when to eat because of all-day dining options, and special diets like diabetic or allergy-sensitive can be arranged. For residents who can't get out, the staff provides meal preparation and service, laundry, dry cleaning, and housekeeping, and they'll even help with washing, clothing, toileting, and other daily needs. Medical appointments, errands, and even trips to religious services are covered with transportation, plus resident parking is available for those who need it. Pear Tree Manor coordinates health care with outside providers, and there are emergency alert systems for safety. When it comes to keeping folks busy, there're scheduled community events, exercise and wellness programs, movie nights in the lounge, book rooms, garden paths for a stroll, a game area, and sometimes even board games, pet therapy, or music therapy. Residents can expect an active calendar with morning and evening activities, entertainment, and seasonal celebrations, and there's a mobile stylist for hair care or possibly access to a salon and spa. The home stays lively but never overwhelming, and the owners keep up the grounds beautifully, with garden space, outdoor common areas, and a focus on helping people be as independent as they can while also getting the hands-on help they need. Pear Tree Manor's licensed and carefully regulated by Maryland's Department of Social Services, and the whole setup is designed to help residents build good friendships with each other and staff while supporting their health and comfort every day.
