    Neglectful dishonest unsafe filthy facility

I had a terrible experience. Staff routinely violated privacy (intercepted phones/mail, eavesdropped), discouraged visits and demanded appointments, and concealed falls/medication problems - caregivers and management lied and seemed more focused on money than residents. The owner was unstable and reportedly misrepresented credentials, the facility was dirty and dark (rooms reeked of urine), staff were often absent or sleeping in common areas, security cameras didn't work, and there were no activities and awful food. I would not trust them with a loved one.

    About Cape Of Good Health

Cape of Good Health sits on a quiet property in Edgewood and offers many kinds of care and living choices for seniors, so folks can pick from independent living, senior apartments, condos, townhomes, assisted living, memory care, nursing homes, and even residential care home settings, and there are private suites, shared rooms, and fully furnished options to meet different needs, which really works well for people who want independence but might need help with daily things like bathing, dressing, or remembering medications, and the staff's always around, with round-the-clock nurses, a full team for medication help, and care plans that fit what each resident needs, plus the buildings are all accessible, with ground floor units, wheelchair showers, bath tubs, and air conditioning, and there's always someone close if you need standby assistance. The community keeps people busy if they want to be, with scheduled daily activities like art and cooking classes, movie nights, both on-site and out in the community, and there's always something going on in the activity rooms or outside in the gardens with walking paths, or during vineyard tours for families or groups, which adds a special touch, and the dining choices aim to fit many diets from kosher to gluten-free, vegan, low-salt, and diabetic options, with professional chefs using organic food as much as they can. People practice different religions here and there are regular services for Catholic, Jewish, Mormon/LDS, Protestant, and others both on and off site, and you also get devotional activities and educational talks or lifelong learning events when folks want them. Residents can use the on-site salon for grooming, cable or satellite TV in their rooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, and there's a kitchenette in each unit for quick meals or snacks. Safety jumps to the top of the list here too, with medical alert systems, ID theft protection, and home security options, along with safety guides for seniors and help with retirement planning and health care coordination, so medical appointments and medication get managed and pharmacy support or oxygen therapy are all on hand, and the community arranges transportation for outings and appointments though the vans don't have wheelchair lifts. There's 24-hour supervision and an emergency call system, housekeeping and linen services, and maintenance-free living so people don't have to worry about chores. People can use special technology plans for cable, internet, or cell phones, which means loved ones can keep in touch. The place runs adult day care services and respite care for short stays or recovery after being in the hospital, and there are rehabilitation services like physical or speech therapy, so care carries through many situations. Cape of Good Health has a score of 3.8 out of 10 on its community ratings and reviews, so some people have found problems here, but the staff works full-time and is committed to offering support, activities to keep life interesting, and many levels of care to help seniors feel comfortable and safe. The property is accredited in Maryland and covers needs like home care, medical transportation, and help for people with memory troubles, diabetes, or those needing more hands-on help, and residents can connect with others in lounges or outside, spend time with family or friends, or just have help nearby if they need it.
