Prince Of Peace II is a small senior living facility in a quiet neighborhood of Fort Washington, Maryland, where folks can find five well-sized senior apartments, including options for shared living, one-bedroom, and studio apartments, all specially outfitted for senior needs with full safety measures in every unit, emergency pendants, and keypad entry for peace of mind, and the staff stays on site around the clock to help with things like bathing, dressing, toileting, medication reminders, and feeding by spoon when needed, especially for those with health concerns such as Parkinson's or dementia, and there's always a licensed nurse and trained caregivers to handle emergencies any time of day or night. The place feels just like home, with comfortable rooms, flat-screen TVs, a library, a games room, a dining hall for chef-prepared meals three times a day, and snacks in between. Residents get laundry and cleaning taken care of, so they don't have to worry about chores, and help is there for moving in, getting in and out of bed, and managing physical therapy or diabetic needs, and every person has their own care plan. You can see pets out in the landscaped gardens, walkers on the walking paths, and sometimes you'll catch folks enjoying arts and crafts, reading in the library, watching a movie in the theater room, or celebrating birthdays and holidays with special entertainment. There's a fitness area for daily movement, a therapy room, access to massage, a barbershop, local transportation for outings and doctor's visits, and a concierge who helps arrange appointments or questions. The place welcomes flexible visits from loved ones, encourages family gatherings, and has a calendar of social activities so no one's bored, and there are always options for residents to compare care needs or ask for pricing before they move in. The grounds stay clean and secure with 24/7 security and maintenance, and health checks happen every month with a physician. Some people like that it's not so big and busy as other places, finding comfort in the quiet, home-like halls and small community feel, while still getting care for Alzheimer's, memory needs, or those needing more help with everyday life. There are always reviews and detailed information shared online or by phone for anyone curious, and pricing's transparent for each room type, which folks seem to appreciate, and all things considered, Prince Of Peace II gives seniors a safe, simple, and caring setting to call home.
Caring staff but serious issues
I placed my grandmother here and I appreciate the loving, knowledgeable, professional staff and the home-like, remodeled facility (hardwood floors, granite counters, stair lift, single and two-person rooms) - she loved the food and seemed happier, which gave us some peace of mind. However I was alarmed that they showed an expired license and wouldn't provide copies of license/insurance, and I witnessed neglect: she wasn't unpacked after move-in, was sometimes kept in the same clothes for days, wasn't bathed or had teeth brushed, and there were broken dishes. Mixed feelings - caring staff and a nice environment, but serious administrative and hygiene issues mean I can't fully recommend it without caution.
