    Friendly staff great care overpriced

I appreciated the friendly staff, excellent care and cozy, clean decor - the place felt intimate and even has an accessible back entrance. But the long/steep driveway, awkward/unsafe main entry (there was plywood at the kitchen), and rundown neighborhood make the high price hard to justify; it didn't feel special to us.

    About Cresthaven

Cresthaven sits quiet but busy, with its female-only memory care home welcoming women aged 55 and up, and there's always something happening, like crafts, games nights, movie nights, and trips out for restaurant outings or walks in the local community, and they make sure everyone gets their devotional time on and off site in a comfortable area, which some ladies find relaxing because it feels like a small social circle rather than a big institution, and that's helped with the indoor and outdoor common areas and gardens where you see residents visiting with each other or family, sometimes taking walks or just sitting in the sun. This place handles many levels of care, so even if someone's needs change over time, like needing skilled nursing or just some help with daily things like getting dressed, bathing, or reminders about blood sugar for diabetes, the staff's right there 24 hours, awake and watching to keep everyone safe, especially for those with memory concerns, and they've put extra focus on memory care, adding security bracelets and alarms in their purpose-built memory care building to prevent wandering or to help if someone starts to act out, and there's a doctor on call, nurses on staff, and regular visits from other health folks like podiatrists, dentists, physical and occupational therapists, and even speech therapists, and when it comes to meals, the kitchen serves daily meals, with vegetarian choices too, and for folks with incontinence, they're good about giving reminders for restroom use. The rooms for memory care are either studio or shared, they aren't fancy but they cover the basics, with wheelchair-accessible showers. Cresthaven does hospice and respite stays, which can be a help for families who need a break, and accepts Medicaid. If a resident needs behavior care, cues for medication, or sensory monitoring devices, they handle that. There's a sense of freedom here, within safe limits, with staff showing respect and support so each woman still has choice and dignity. Transport for outings or doctor appointments is offered both as a courtesy and paid option. Cresthaven's strength lies in tailored, respectful care for women with memory problems, keeping things steady and simple, so in the end, everyone can stay in place as long as they need, always with help nearby if something changes.
