    Responsive loving staff spotless home

I placed my father at Mike-William Assisted Living and was very impressed - the house manager was responsive, staff were loving, attentive and professional, and the home was spotless and well-maintained. He thrived with tailored meals (even Jamaican-style), good medical oversight, engaging social time, and a high staff-to-resident ratio that made it feel like a true home away from home. It's affordable with no hidden fees and the transition was seamless, though there is some staff turnover so confirm the level of care matches your loved one's needs. Overall I highly recommend it.

    About Mike-William

Mike-William Assisted Living Facility, sometimes called Mike-William ALF, sits at 6313 Joyce Dr in Temple Hills and also at 7404 Ben Drive in Oxon Hill, Maryland, and they've got another name they use too: Oxon-Hi. Both locations serve seniors with a simple ranch-style home layout, no stairs, and private cozy rooms with inviting common areas that help folks feel relaxed and comfortable whether they're spending time alone or socializing. The home's got walking trails through wooded parks nearby and it's close to golf courses, so residents who like fresh air or watching wildlife have nice outdoor options. The environment stays clean, safe, and quiet, with the usual care you'd expect from a board and care home, and both men and women can live there but only accepts one at a time.

Owned and run by a registered nurse, Mike-William has caregivers who got vetted thoroughly and seem to know how to handle all sorts of care needs, whether someone needs regular assisted living, skilled nursing, home health care, hospice care, memory care, or even just a little help now and then through respite and adult day services. They've got a solid high staff-to-resident ratio, 24-hour supervision, nurses always on-call, and doctors who visit. Seniors getting care here can count on medication management, help with daily living like bathing or meals, and specialized services for folks facing Alzheimer's or high-acuity medical needs. There's an in-house pharmacy, labs, x-rays, and regular visits from podiatrists and therapists for folks' health. Someone who needs a dentist or physical, occupational, or speech therapy can get those arranged right there.

Everyone gets encouragement to join activities like fitness classes, bingo, small group games, or social events right on site, and if someone wants worship or spiritual activities there are devotional services available outside the facility. Meals are prepared for everyone, and there's resident parking plus wheelchair accessible showers. Residents can bring their pets if they have any, get their hair done with available beauty and barber services, and folks use indoor and outdoor common spaces for chatting or relaxing. The place has smoke-free policies and tries hard to keep everything tidy and peaceful.

Seniors get a choice here-short-term stays, long-term living, independent living, or more focused help like memory care or skilled nursing-so if someone needs to move in for recovery or just wants to try the place out before deciding, respite care works for that. Folks from Maryland, Virginia, and the Washington DC area can move in, and most families say the sense of community is strong, with people looking out for each other. Mike-William has even received awards like "Best of Senior Living 2025," which shows some outside folks have noticed their work. The goal here seems to be simple: help each resident feel secure, comfortable, and as independent as possible, giving them proper care and real companionship along the way.
