    About Tender Care Group Home

Tender Care Group Home sits in the Hillcrest Heights neighborhood of Temple Hills, MD, and is a small, homey community focused on giving seniors comfort and safety. The place has different levels of care, so people who come with lighter needs can stay even as care needs grow over time, which means people don't have to leave just because they need a little more help later on. You'll find assisted living for folks who want help with things like bathing, moving around, taking medicines, or getting dressed, and there's always staff close by, day or night, making sure everyone's okay. For those with dementia or Alzheimer's, there's a secure memory care section that was built just for their needs, including special alarms on bracelets and monitored doors to prevent wandering, so families can feel less worried. The staff includes registered nurses and well-trained caregivers, some with special know-how in dementia, who work hard to treat everyone with dignity and respect, and there's always a focus on helping residents feel as independent as possible.

Seniors live together in a close, group setting and share roomy spaces that feel more like a real house than anything like a hospital, which can make things more comfortable and less scary for new people moving in. The layout includes furnished rooms, a dining area, gardens, and walking paths, so folks can get fresh air, and the building itself is separate and secure, with a calm, settled feeling. If someone likes activities, the staff keeps a good calendar of small social events, movie nights, and ways to help people stay busy and make friends, even rides are provided for trips and appointments, so people aren't stuck inside all day if they don't want to be.

Tender Care Group Home gives a lot of focus to personal needs-meals can be planned around allergies or diabetes, there are three meals and snacks daily, and they'll even remind people to use the restroom if that's tricky for them. Nursing care can cover complex health problems, including insulin shots, behavioral support, or help for folks who need one or two people to help with moving and transfers, or use of mechanical lifts if needed. The memory care area is locked, with technology that alerts staff if someone tries to leave a safe space, which works well for folks who wander. Caregivers are careful with folks who have tricky behaviors or physical challenges, and they offer both short-term respite care and long-term stays.

The neighborhood is quiet with mature trees and gardens, and the community is easy to get to, just off MD-5 and close to local bus lines, grocery stores, and some small shops within walking distance. Housekeeping, laundry, and even phone access all come standard. Staff and management put focus on each resident's care plan, staying in touch with doctors when needed, and there's a Senior Living Counselor to go over options with caregivers or families. Room costs for a shared semi-private space start around $3,500, and a memory care suite is just below $3,700, which includes meals, housekeeping, and most services. All in all, the home aims to offer a comfortable, calm, and close-knit place where people can get the extra help they need without giving up a sense of belonging or personal dignity.
