    Nice tour but not suitable

I toured this community and appreciated the director’s guided tour — it felt homey and residents seemed to get along. However, it wasn’t right for my loved one: there were stairs, it felt bigger than I wanted yet lacked activities and seemed to offer minimal care (many residents sitting in front of the TV). I also noticed sketchy staff/high turnover and some cleanliness concerns, so the tour was okay but I wouldn’t recommend it for us.

    About Rose's Place

Rose's Place is a family owned and operated residential care home that opened in June 1997, and Rosemary Garrett, a registered nurse, founded it after many years of professional care experience. The facility provides supportive care that follows each resident's unique needs, and staff try to make everyone feel like they're part of a family, offering help for daily activities along with a calm, home-like setting. Certified caregivers and trained staff cover various home health care services, including companionship, medication help, bathing, grooming with hair and nail services, and meal prep, with home-cooked options and special diets like vegetarian, allergy-friendly, and diabetes meals. The place is known as the "Bed and Breakfast of Assisted Living," with private and semi-private rooms and monthly prices that come out up front, and they keep things no smoking in all indoor spaces.

Rose's Place pays close attention to those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, offering a secured memory care area in a special building with technology like bracelets to keep residents safe from wandering and alert staff if someone heads into unsafe spots, and staff handle transfers with lifts or hands-on help for different mobility levels. Some rooms come furnished and telephones are available, and there's a community dining room with all-day dining as well as a community room, walking paths, and a quiet garden for fresh air, and emergency alert systems are in place to help keep everyone safe at all times. Nurses are on staff and there's a 24-hour on-call RN, with a doctor also available on call. The staff can step in to help residents who have behavior challenges or memory problems, and they can care for people who wander, act out, or need a little more structure to their day.

Residents join in on movie nights, group activities, leisure programs, and outings, and offsite devotional services are an option, with the aim to keep everyone engaged, active, and making friends, plus there's a beautician onsite if anyone wants help with hair or nails. Housekeeping, laundry services, transportation, and parking make things easier for day-to-day life, and amenities cover both indoor and outdoor spaces, so it feels open, with chances to walk outside or join community events indoors. Respite care is available when families need a break, and the home is committed to affordable, high-quality care that lets people age in place, so they can stay at Rose's Place as their needs change. Men and women can move in, and everything is set up around improving quality of life, safety, and comfort, with special attention given through holistic choices and a newsletter to keep families in the loop.
