    Very happy, recommend with caveats

I placed my dad here and we're very happy - he loves the people and the food, and the staff (especially Liz) are friendly, attentive, and really work to involve residents. The place is clean, homelike, with abundant activities and a strong memory-care program; move-in and billing were smooth with predictable pricing and no hidden fees. It's on the pricier side and van logistics were unclear, and some areas feel dated/less active for men, but overall I highly recommend it.

    About Methuen Village

Methuen Village sits at 4 Gleason Street in Methuen, Massachusetts, right by Riverwalk Park and the Spicket River, and when you walk in you'll see mailboxes and a hallway leading to rooms, with a barber shop by the lobby where you can make an appointment, usually Monday to Saturday from 8 in the morning to 5 in the evening, but not on Sundays. This community, managed by Senior Living Residences, offers independent living for active seniors, service-enriched assisted living, and a state-of-the-art memory care neighborhood called Compass Memory Support, for folks living with memory issues like Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia, plus all the programs are shaped by work with the Boston University Alzheimer's Disease Center, so they use what evidence shows will help.

Residents get a range of services like medication management, incontinence and non-ambulatory care, and transportation with parking if needed, and there's also a trained staff, including aides who can provide home care services-this means companionship and help for seniors who still live at home but want a bit more support, and Methuen Village even uses electronic visit verification and tele-health for remote patient monitoring. There's a dining room open every day from 7:30 am to 7 pm, with professional chefs serving international and no-sugar meal options, plus they let guests join for meals, with award-winning dining said to be a highlight, and the dining is set up restaurant style, so everyone can sit together and chat. The activities program covers all sorts of social and enrichment things, like community connection events, and they put a focus on strong family involvement, so relatives stay in touch and know what's happening, and they even use a Customer Relationship Management system to keep everything organized.

There's a barber shop for haircuts, a booking system for tours or appointments, and beautifully designed common areas with good views of the river, plus you'll find pet-friendly policies and unique community amenities that cover just about everything someone might need, whether for a short respite stay when family goes on vacation or for long-term care. The community welcomes veterans, offers both employment and tour scheduling, and features programs called My Adult Foster Care, My Adult Home Care, My Senior Care Hub, and My Adult Behavior, each tailored for different levels of need. Staff speak English, and clinical services are available as needed. There's a presence on Facebook and families can also take virtual tours, read testimonials, or schedule brief stays to see if Methuen Village feels right.
