Foremost at Sharon sits at 259 Norwood Street in Sharon, Massachusetts, but a lot of folks list Walpole as its location because it's right on the line there, and the facility's got 66 certified beds and is owned by Rachel Shakow and Amitai Dagan, with Rachel holding 70% and Amitai 30%, and it employs between 201 and 500 people, which is a fair size for this type of place, and you'll find they've got a secured memory care unit along with skilled nursing and long-term care, so residents who need extra help-either for dementia, rehab, or something like wound vac and ostomy care-have services to meet those needs, and the program lineup covers short-term rehab, long-term stays, physical, occupational, and speech therapies, plus they have bariatric beds so folks who need extra support get it, and they offer both private pay and all sorts of insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare, which can matter a lot to families. The rooms come furnished, and there are both private and semi-private setups, some with private bathrooms, plus safety features like emergency call systems and Wanderguard, and outside, there's a secure courtyard, greenhouse, nice walkways, a gazebo, and a shaded patio with green metal tables and chairs, so residents can safely enjoy fresh air and nature. The staff is known for being professional, and their nurse turnover rate is much lower than the state average, sticking at 22.2% compared to the state's 43.1%, and nurse staffing hours average about 3.59 per resident per day, though that's a little lower than what's usual for Massachusetts, and they're committed to offering personal and kind care, especially for residents who need memory support. They've got social services to help with housing and discharge planning, and activities and therapy programs get tailored to each person, particularly in the memory care unit, and their onsite team tries to keep everyone engaged and comfortable, with emotion-focused caregivers paying close attention to what makes each resident feel safe. There have been some concerns reported, like 30 total deficiencies in recent inspections-including real harm related to pressure ulcer care and continence issues, as well as infection control deficiencies with no immediate jeopardy documented, and while the staff makes an honest effort, the care quality's about middle-of-the-road, given the current rating of 2.8 out of 5 from a handful of reviews, so it's clear that while Foremost at Sharon does have good features like a secure environment, outdoor gardens, and a full continuum of nursing and therapy services, folks considering the facility should weigh both the strengths and areas in need of improvement.

Caring staff, but cleanliness concerns
I appreciated the warm, professional staff-attentive CNAs, great PT/OT, creative activities, holiday/birthday celebrations, regular family calls and Facebook updates-and I saw my mom become cheerier, stronger and more engaged. However the building is dated and sometimes dirty/smelly, with lost clothes, poor administrative responsiveness and safety/food concerns that worried me. Great people, but management must fix cleanliness and safety before I could fully recommend it.
