    Compassionate staff, inconsistent communication, repairs

I had a mostly positive experience - the staff were compassionate, friendly and hardworking (nurses like Maria and Andrea, the activities team, therapy staff and office were excellent), the small, secure facility felt clean and supportive, and my loved one showed improved mood and mobility. That said, I saw inconsistent communication and staffing at times, occasional lapses (lost laundry, dietary/medication issues), and a dated building that needs repairs. I would recommend this place but advise staying engaged and confirming care details.

    About Westfield Gardens

Westfield Gardens sits as a 68-bed senior living community where folks aged 55 and older can find several types of care, whether someone needs independent living, assisted living, memory care, short-term rehabilitation, or skilled nursing, and they also have home care and respite services for those who want to stay in familiar surroundings or just need a break from caregiving, which means the facility tries to offer support for all sorts of changing needs in one place. The clinical staff covers a lot of ground, from wound care, stroke recovery, orthopedic and cardiac rehab, to pain management and medication help, and they do so while working with specialty doctors and a wound care team led by Dr. Jared Levingston, a physician trained in wound treatment, with regular wound rounds and pressure relief equipment for people who need that level of detail in their care. Every resident, whether staying for a while or calling it their permanent home, gets access to therapies like physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and the short-term rehab suites have phones, and every room has cable TV, which adds a bit of comfort for those recovering or making a new home there, although there's no clear word about what the doors or floors look like, or whether there's a special garden or patio to sit out on. Nutrition matters, so the facility has a licensed dietitian making sure meals meet each person's needs, balancing vitamins and minerals, and the kitchen staff works to provide food that keeps folks healthy. The memory care service stands out for helping older people living with dementia or Alzheimer's, trying to keep them safe from wandering and giving them space that feels not overwhelming, while assisted living services focus on daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine, so things don't slip through the cracks. If someone just wants independent living, there are simple, social options too, built for active folks who want an easier life. The place keeps nurses onsite at all hours, and there are doctors who come to visit, with specialty visits available for more specific illnesses or challenges, and people can get IV antibiotics, trach care, hospice when it's needed, and enteral therapy. Respite care gives families a break when they need time off. Activities keep people engaged and part of a friendly community, since meeting others and having staff to talk to makes life better, and there are awards that speak to how residents and families see staff's friendliness and the care they receive, including Best of Senior Living, All-Star, and Most Friendly awards, so people looking for a trustworthy place might find comfort there. For anyone interested, tours can be scheduled, brochures are available, and maps help families find the location, though parking and what the building looks like outside haven't really been spelled out, but those details might be shared during a tour. Westfield Gardens focuses on giving each person care that fits their needs, with a geriatric-focused, experienced team, and though some information about the building's details is missing, the support and range of services are there for those looking for something reliable and compassionate in a senior community.
