    Compassionate staff, dangerous management problems

I appreciated many kind, helpful nurses and CNAs, strong therapy, a clean, welcoming facility with good activities and roomy accommodations. Unfortunately, after a change in ownership care deteriorated - chronic understaffing, poor supervision, medication errors, late or removed meals, outbreaks, ignored calls, and my loved one declined and died alone without family being contacted. It's a mix of compassionate staff and dangerous management problems; I cannot recommend it until leadership fixes safety, staffing, and accountability.

There's a beauty salon, concierge service, and spacious areas for activities, a pub, an activity/cinema room, a gym, a special Rehab Center, and a gift shop soon to be opened, all designed to give comfort and offer folks ways to enjoy themselves, meet people, and feel at home. The facility sits in a setting with a central courtyard, garden, wooded walking path, and large lobby, which help folks relax and get fresh air or take gentle walks.

The staff pays close attention to every resident's personal dignity and wellness, working on holistic care-physical, emotional, and mental support-so people feel valued and part of a community, and the staff tries to make things welcoming and warm. There's a memory care program, clinical services, care navigation, and programs like Falls Prevention and Fight the Flu Campaign, and they also pay attention to reducing off-label use of antipsychotics.

They offer private suites in the subacute wing for comfort, and their rehab program aims to restore independence, function, and reduce hospital trips, so people can heal and get back to what matters. Recreational activities give residents something new to try each day, and the staff arranges opportunities to socialize, encouraging meaningful connections between residents. AdviniaCare Wilmington takes part in larger efforts for safety, wellness, and policy change in Massachusetts, keeps up with advocacy for caregivers, and connects with programs that help with end-of-life care, care transitions, and local needs through groups like MassMAP and MassCAP.
