Jewish Healthcare Center has served older adults and the Jewish community since 1914, first known as the Jewish Home for Aged and Orphans, then changing names in 1995 to fit growing services, and the place has a strong background in care with lots of focus on dignity and comfort. The facility runs as a nonprofit and offers assisted living through the Eisenberg Assisted Living Residence, as well as short-term post-hospital rehab, Alzheimer's and dementia units, long-term care, and hospice care with a program called JHC Hospice, which has bereavement support for families. There's also the Namaste Care program for holistic end-of-life dementia care, and you'll find JHC PrivateCare for private care needs and JHC LifeCare Management for care coordination so different needs get met. They make kosher meals and have a kosher nursing home with a chapel on campus, which is important for residents who want to stay true to religious traditions, and families can take virtual tours of the modern campus that has landscaped gardens, patios, and security features to keep folks safe and comfortable. Care teams work with an impressive staff-to-patient ratio, and that lets caregivers know the people they work with, whether in short-term rehab, long-term care, or programs like falls prevention, reducing off-label antipsychotic use, and their Alzheimer's and dementia care units, and staff will help with outpatient therapy, home care services, and emergency care too. Jewish Healthcare Center has served those needing specialized care with programs like Fight the Flu Campaign, Sepsis Smart, and care transitions; it offers family feedback programs, resources, testimonials, outpatient therapy, and special support for end-of-life through its hospice team. There's a multi-care facility, a dedicated dementia special care unit, health planning services, and case studies for families who want to see how others have managed care here, and the place makes use of several Meta platforms for things like virtual tours and Facebook integration, so families can stay connected and find resources easily. The staff organizes programs and activities for residents, helps with falls prevention, and supports safe care transitions, and there's a strong sense of community for those of the Jewish faith or who want kosher living, private or long-term help, or home care services, with options to fit different care needs.

Compassionate staff, excellent rehab, caveats
I was very impressed overall - compassionate, attentive staff; wonderful nursing aides; a knowledgeable, effective PT/rehab team; clean, well-maintained, welcoming facilities (spacious private rooms, kosher meals, chapel, activities) and strong administration that made it feel like home. That said, I saw troubling lapses at times: communication problems around med changes and discharge, an unprofessional occupational therapist, inflexible scheduling, and occasional sanitation/linen issues that need fixing. For excellent rehab and genuinely caring staff, I recommend this place - just stay vigilant about meds, linens, and scheduling.
