RegalCare at Worcester is a nursing home in Worcester, Massachusetts, that focuses on nursing care, patient safety, and meeting quality care metrics, and they've been rated for several years, which shows ongoing checks on how well they do. The place accepts both Medicare and Medicaid and offers care for people needing short-term rehabilitation after surgery, illness, or injury, and for others who need long-term skilled nursing, so you'll find both types of care there alongside respite care when families need a break. The professional staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, therapy staff, medical directors, respiratory therapists, speech/language pathologists, doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dieticians, feeding assistants, pharmacists, and social workers, so people with different needs get help from many types of trained caregivers all under one roof. The building is set up for up to 160 residents, but around 112 people live there on an average day, and the staff provide about 3.59 nurse hours per resident daily, making sure everyone has support from nurses, aides, and therapists, though nurse turnover was most recently 32.2%. Services cover a lot, with occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, stroke recovery, IV antibiotic therapy, wound care, bariatric care, orthopedic rehab, nutritional counseling, and specialized nursing home services, with extra attention on infection control even though there have been some documented deficiencies. Staff help with custom exercise plans and care programs focused on getting each person strong enough for daily routines, like climbing stairs, using a wheelchair, or managing at home, with therapy and support designed for the best chance at greater independence and a better life. Residents get information about their rights and education on their care, and while there's a resident council to help people have a say, there isn't a family council. Mr. Hector Carabello is the executive manager, with Mr. Eliyahu Mirlis as the owner, and the facility operates as a limited liability company following rules set by the Board of Registration in Nursing Home Administrators. The place isn't a Continuing Care Retirement Community, and it's not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, but it's known for dedicated, personalized attention and for giving people support in a comfortable, home-like setting, with care planning that meets professional standards and careful help for those with special needs like ostomy care. The team believes in making each day as comfortable as possible while helping people get ready for life after rehab or while living with illness or frailty, and over more than two decades, they've built a reputation for attentive care and support, offering a nurturing environment where the goal is always to help each resident reach their own best level of independence.

Unresponsive staff, unsafe care, filthy
I had a mostly awful experience. Nursing and frontline staff were often unresponsive or unsafe, meds and discharges mishandled, communication and management disappeared, housekeeping and food were poor (mice reported), and promises weren't kept. A few therapists and nurses were excellent and rehab helped in one case, but overall I would not recommend this facility.
