Accra Home Care is a leading provider of individualized homecare services across Minnesota, serving over 11,000 clients in all 87 counties. With a mission centered on improving lives, Accra provides tailored support and services to children, adolescents, adults, and families who need help caring for a loved one with a disability or an older adult wishing to maintain their independence at home. The organization employs more than 16,000 people in both direct care and administrative positions, making it the largest homecare provider in the state.
At Accra Home Care, services are designed to promote personal choice and independence. Through Self-directed Personal Care Assistance (PCA) Choice services, both children and adults can receive help with activities of daily living, such as dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, transfers, mobility, positioning, and toileting. For adults, this support extends to light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation. Unique to Accra is the flexibility of offering PCA services both at home and within the community, allowing clients to remain engaged and supported wherever they are. The team is committed to making sure that clients' needs are met by qualified caregivers who are thoughtfully matched to each individual's situation.
Accra also provides Financial Management Services that give individuals with long-term care needs or disabilities the autonomy to hire and employ their own caregivers through programs such as Consumer Directed Community Supports and the Consumer Support Grant. This approach empowers clients to manage their care more directly, while Accra assists with employment and purchasing needed supports that allow clients to continue living comfortably in the community.
As a 245D licensed provider, Accra Home Care delivers a suite of waivered services, including respite, homemaker, Individual Community Living Support (ICLS), Individual Home Supports (IHS) without training, IHS with training, and night supervision. For each 245D service, clients can select trusted, qualified workers suited to their specific requirements, with the added support of an assigned Accra Service Coordinator who collaborates with clients and county case managers to set up and administer services. For IHS with training, qualified staff are carefully matched to provide the most effective support for the client.
Accra’s commitment extends beyond just providing care; the organization works closely with families to create personalized care plans and help them navigate all available options. The staff strives to foster an environment where every client and caregiver feels supported and connected. Through individualized support and a dedicated team, Accra Home Care continues to set the standard for quality, compassionate homecare, improving the quality of life for vulnerable individuals and their families throughout Minnesota.
