    Welcoming staff, clean community; pricey.

I toured Grand Arbor and was very impressed - the staff were welcoming, polite and personal (they even knew my name before I arrived), and our guide Wendy gave a thorough, attentive tour. The apartments are spacious, sunny, clean and nicely laid out with large closets and kitchens; the community feels resort-like with a pool, theater, library, on-campus wellness/gym, therapy room, varied dining (Pioneer Grill, burger night, breakfast), exercise classes and movie nights. Caring attendants and attentive programming make me seriously consider moving; my only concerns are the high price and a few appliance/quality issues - I plan to stay in contact about a future visit.

    About Grand Arbor by Vivie

Grand Arbor by Vivie stands as a senior living place where folks can choose from independent living, assisted living, enhanced assisted living, and memory care, and it's got tailored living spaces you can set up to your liking, which means residents can find the right fit for their needs whether they need a little help or more hands-on support, and the staff covers things like bathing help, dressing, medication management, and daily activities, and you'll see things like 12-16 hour nursing services, 24-hour call systems, and overall supervision for well-being and safety, which helps people feel more at ease. The place bundles many types of care, like Non-Medical Home Care, Medicare-Certified Home Health Care, Hospice Care, and even Active Adult Living, so everything you might look for in elder care is right there or easy to get to, and with memory care, there are staff specially trained in dementia and activities that help folks stay engaged.

Grand Arbor by Vivie offers a wellness center with a warm water pool, a lounge spot for conversations, a library, a theater for watching movies, a salon, and garden spaces, and there are movie nights and shared activities to help residents keep busy and feel part of things, with daily chances for social time, walks, and quiet time reading. Food service is well set up too, with Pioneer Grill Restaurant and Pioneer Grill Bistro, where there's a lunch service daily from noon to 1:30 p.m. and dinner Monday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., so people can sit down to grill specials or grab sandwiches, soups, snacks, and more for a casual meal, and the bistro is open weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Meals can be more social with family and visitors, and there's also catering for events on-site and within 20 miles, so wedding or group meals are easy to arrange with boxed lunches or gourmet options with wine and beer.

Recreational choices include parks and walking paths nearby for fresh air, plus spiritual support is close with Grace Baptist Church and shopping is handy at places like Walmart Pharmacy, and the Alexandria Clinic and Minnesota Eye Institute are nearby in case medical needs come up. Residents often help run community activities, and there's a strong mix of both staff-organized and resident-organized programs so folks can join in as much as feels right.

Grand Arbor by Vivie also hosts and partners with groups for women's leadership, like Lakes Area Professional Women (LAPW), which offers members a way to connect through monthly luncheons, special events, and motivational talks from speakers like Julie Harper and Mandi Moon. This tie brings motivational events like the EmpowHER day and annual galas for empowerment and connection, and the campus itself holds events such as the 3rd Annual Gala Professional, always with a bent toward helping women grow personally and professionally. Membership opportunities with LAPW let newcomers try out meetings before deciding to join, and many programs focus on supporting women advancing in their careers and leadership.

Everyday life at Grand Arbor by Vivie is about comfort, reassurance, and easy access to help as needed, and there are many kinds of care, spaces to relax or meet up, quiet places to read, and ways to stay active, all with staff who know how to care for people as they get older, including those with memory loss. The campus is recognized by Seniorly as a place that provides quality care and offers continuing care through different life stages. With personalized care plans, safe environments, and activities that fit each person's interests and needs, Grand Arbor by Vivie provides a helpful, respectful community for seniors in Alexandria, MN, with options to make daily life easier and more connected.
