    Small-town peaceful staff provide care

I chose this nursing home for its great small-town setting; the staff are attentive and the grounds feel peaceful. My parent is safe, well cared for, and I'm very pleased with the community.

    About Parkview Senior Living

Parkview Senior Living sits right in Belview, Minnesota, with a backyard that goes straight out to Belview City Park, so residents can enjoy the outdoors whenever they like, and you see a few outdoor courtyards too, along with walking paths and gardens where people can get some sun or just watch the birds. This place offers several kinds of care, so you'll find assisted living, independent living, memory care, and skilled nursing all under one roof, which really means people can live here with friends or on their own and move between levels of care if needed without leaving the community they know. They've got specific support for people needing dementia or memory care, and there's help available for companion care, hospice, respite, and even care for short-term needs like recovering after surgery or an illness. Staff are onhand 24 hours a day, with trained people like RNs, LPNs, and CNAs led by folks such as Scott Kessler, LNHA, Stacy Palesotti, RN, and Kim Rolling, RN, so residents can get help with bathing, dressing, medication, and whatever comes up.

Residents stay in places with free cable TV, Wi-Fi, and their own phones, and everyone uses emergency alert systems for safety. Folks who want to bring a pet can usually do so, which is nice for people with companion animals, and there's even pet sitting. Meals are made by chefs and meal planners, with three flexible meals every day plus snacks and drinks any time, and you always see treats like soft serve ice cream on hand. For people who want or need them, there are special meals, diabetic meal planning, and nutritional counseling, so needs get met. Housekeeping, deep cleaning, laundry, and dry cleaning services keep things comfortable, and there's move-in help too.

You'll usually run into events or outings, like group trips, movie nights, live music, arts and crafts, happy hours, and worship services so nobody has to feel shut in, and there's an Activities Director named Pam Hultquist to keep things lively. Some activities are planned by the staff and some are resident-run, and there's always something to do in the arts room or common areas. You can also see folks at the on-site barber and beauty shop, or getting rehabilitation in therapy and exercise rooms, with physical, occupational, and speech therapy available for all ages including outpatient therapy for those who aren't living there full-time. Adult day services offer a safe place for seniors who live elsewhere to come for the day, with care plans and medical support-including things like medication help, bathing, and personal care-so their regular caregivers can get a break. This setup aims to let seniors socialize, get care in a friendly place, and maybe avoid moving into long-term care too soon.

The community has 30 beds and is certified by both Medicare and Medicaid. It has devoted staff for social services, environmental care, food, and nursing, including names like Susan West, LPN; Maria Hernandez, Dietary Director; Matt Dellwo for Environmental Services; Danielle Nielsen, ADON/Social Services Designee; and a clinical and medical team so people get the support they need, especially for memory support and skilled nursing. Family and resident councils are encouraged here, so concerns can get addressed directly. Altogether, Parkview Senior Living tries to provide a good environment for people to stay as healthy and independent as they can, with as much company and care as needed, and if someone likes being outdoors, enjoys activities, or just needs reliable medical care, this is a place with steady hands and a small-town feel.
