    Bright, caring active creek-side community

I placed my mother here and have been very pleased: bright, clean, recently updated facility with lovely creek-side grounds, abundant activities (pool, classes, outings), three good meals daily, and on-site nursing/medical support that gives us real peace of mind. Staff are mostly caring, friendly and helpful - they helped her settle and stay engaged - but there are occasional issues (turnover, a few rude/unprofessional employees) and some families reported billing/management hiccups. Apartments can be small and many services are a la carte, so verify fees and care plans, but overall I recommend this welcoming, active community.

    About Heathers Manor

Heathers Manor sits at 3000 Douglas Dr N in Crystal, Minnesota, and mostly serves as an assisted living place for people 55 and older, and it has three floors with 78 assisted living apartments and 134 independent living units, ranging from studios to two-bedroom layouts, so folks have choices when it comes to where they want to stay, and it's got meal services included for assisted living but not for independent living, and pets like dogs and cats under 50 pounds are allowed for a $400 deposit, which is good for people who like to have their animals with them. There are care suite options if someone needs more support, and they have services like medication help, help with bathing or dressing, physical therapy, and even Alzheimer's care and hospice support, which are really important if you want to stay somewhere long term or need a bit more help as time goes on. The place has a response system for emergencies, regular housekeeping, a laundry and linen service, and scheduled van transportation, plus there's an option for a detached garage for $50 a month if you drive.

There's a lot to do for residents, from game nights, story time, book clubs, a gardening group, Nintendo Wii bowling, and even a resident musical group, so there are plenty of ways to meet people and have fun, along with both onsite and offsite activities, and they have devotional services for those who want them. You'll find places to spend time like a cafe, library, bistro dining room, exercise room, pool and spa, and a community room, along with outdoor patios and walking areas if you like to be outside. Residents have access to Wi-Fi and cable in their rooms, they can bring overnight guests, and invite people for meals, and there are recreation and social spaces like a TV lounge and fitness center to help folks stay social and active. Support staff are there around the clock to help with daily tasks if you need it, like medication and personal care, and the facility makes an effort to keep things clean and tidy, with housekeeping and dry cleaning services included.

Heathers Manor tries to keep a homelike and welcoming feel and helps seniors keep their independence, dignity, and individuality, with a focus on letting people age in place, which means you can stay even if your needs change, and there's respite care if you need short-term help. There are structured programs, lectures, and hobbies to make life fulfilling, along with on-site beauty and barber services, help with VA benefits, and financial advice. Guests get parking, and public bus lines are nearby, making it easier for family to visit. It's set up for people with wheelchairs, and rooms can be single, semi-private, or apartments, all in a clean and engaging environment. There's a connection between Heathers Estates and Heathers Manor with locations right next to each other at 2900 and 3000 Douglas Drive N, and folks get transportation for free, so getting around isn't much trouble. Folks who want to take a look can set up a tour to see what the community's like for themselves.
