The staff includes licensed nurses on site all the time, with medication management and skilled medical care, and the place manages a holistic care plan, so the team includes social services, restorative services, chaplain-led spiritual care, as well as daily activities like games, fitness classes, crafts, parties, and visits out into the community. Residents who need help will find wound care, IV therapy, ostomy care, and X-ray services, plus outpatient therapy for physical, speech, and occupational rehab, and there's memory care for Alzheimer's and other dementias, with a steady routine and safeguards in place. The facility does cater to many types of stays-short-term rehab, respite care, long-term skilled nursing, and there's also hospice care when needed, all coordinated through a multidisciplinary approach so everyone gets attention for their medical, spiritual, and social needs. Meals meet dietary needs and are served in a dining room where folks gather for every meal, and people who want a haircut or trim can use the on-site beauty and barbershop. Viewcrest Health Center is union-represented, with the UFCW 1189, and has steward Jane Morin and union representative Stacy Spexet, so there are worksite resources, contract and benefits documents there for staff, including the Viewcrest 2021-2024 contract and a benefit plan from the Northern Minnesota-Wisconsin Area Retail Food Health and Welfare Fund. St. Francis Health Services manages the place, and folks can find worship services and spiritual guidance for all denominations, provided by a chaplain and visiting clergy, and it's also a member of the Duluth Chamber of Commerce.
