    About Family Care Services

Family Care Services has proudly provided dedicated home care to the Twin City metro area for over two decades, expanding to now serve residents across most Minnesota counties. This locally owned and operated agency is deeply committed to helping loved ones remain in their homes, delivering a wide array of full-service homecare options tailored to each individual. Their highly experienced staff support clients and their families every step of the way, embracing and honoring diverse cultural and religious needs throughout their care planning. Person-centered care is a foundational value at Family Care Services, ensuring that every service plan is uniquely shaped by the preferences and needs of each client.

At the core of Family Care Services’ offerings are high-quality PCA and waiver services delivered in multicultural settings. The team collaborates closely with patients, families, case managers, and insurance companies to ensure exceptional customer service and optimal care outcomes. Their services encompass everything from patient and family education to personal care attendants, homemaker supports, and all 245D services to comprehensively address the physical and mental well-being of those they serve.

Homemaker assistance is a specialty at Family Care Services, designed to help clients manage essential cleaning and household activities that contribute to independent living. Licensed homemakers provide cleaning services and, when needed, incidental assistance with home management tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and shopping. While the homemaker cleaning remains the primary service provided, these staff members also monitor the person's general wellbeing and home safety. For clients who require more support, homemaker assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) is also available, with attentive staff delivering not just cleaning but help with dressing, bathing, and other personal care tasks. This approach ensures that individuals’ needs are met holistically while preserving their dignity and autonomy at home.

In addition to traditional homemaking services, Family Care Services offers Individual Community Living Supports (ICLS), a bundled service that delivers targeted assistance and support to older adults. These supports are available to individuals age 65 and older participating in Minnesota’s Alternative Care and Elderly Waiver programs. The ICLS program consists of six core service components, blending reminders, cues, intermittent or moderate supervision, and physical assistance to enable continued residence at home. Each service plan is meticulously developed based on the person’s needs across at least two of the six allowable components, following a collaborative planning process with care coordinators.

Companionship is also a focus at Family Care Services, with adult companion services structured to help individuals achieve therapeutic or community integration goals identified in their personalized support plans. These services can include in-person and remote options to adapt to the changing circumstances and preferences of each client. When caregivers require a temporary break, respite care is available to ensure that clients always have reliable, supportive assistance in place, promoting safety and peace of mind.

Specialized 245D-licensed programs, such as Integrated Community Supports (ICS), help close service gaps for individuals on waivers including Brain Injury, Community Alternative Care, Community Access for Disability Inclusion, and Developmental Disabilities. The ICS offering is tailored specifically for adults who choose to live and receive services within supported apartment settings, with the provider maintaining direct or indirect control over the living units. All services are delivered by awake staff and encompass training and support in one or more essential community living skills, such as health, safety, and community engagement.

Night supervision services are available for clients assessed to need overnight assistance while living in their own homes. These services are designed to address nighttime needs in key areas, delivered by attentive staff who ensure ongoing monitoring, support, and safety until morning. Family Care Services also delivers Individualized Home Supports (IHS), which offer support and/or training in a variety of community living service categories. Whether in the person’s own home, a family home, or in community spaces, these services can be provided in person or remotely, always with a focus on cueing, skill maintenance, guidance, and skill-building to help clients thrive independently within their communities.

At every level, Family Care Services underscores a commitment to flexibility, dignity, and culturally competent service, aiming to create comfort, confidence, and continuity for every individual and family in their care. Their longstanding reputation in the Minnesota community is rooted in compassion, expertise, and a deep understanding of the distinctive needs of the people they serve.
