    Good staff, but medical lacking

I found the staff kind and helpful and the facility nice, but it's not suitable for my grandmother-she needs more medical care than they provide.

About Orchard Hill Assisted Living Community

Orchard Hill Assisted Living Community provides a safe and caring place for seniors who need help with daily life or medical care, and the folks there really try to focus on each person's health and well-being, making sure every resident gets individual attention for their needs. The community has assisted living, memory care for people with cognitive concerns, skilled nursing, transitional care, and even home care for those who need support at home, plus respite care for folks who require a short stay for recovery or if their caregiver needs a break. Nursing home services are available for higher care needs, and continuing care helps people who might need more attention over time. Residents can pay with Medicaid, which is helpful for people on different budgets, and there are specific fees for different care levels, room types, and a second person, so costs are clear upfront.

Meals get cooked right there, either as a meal of the day or people can pick from a menu, and the dining room is a spot where everyone can visit and eat together. Staff helps with cleaning, hygiene, bathing, dressing, and medication, including checking on insulin levels for those with diabetes, and they're ready for emergencies 24/7. There's help for moving from beds to wheelchairs, incontinence care, and non-ambulatory support. The building has plenty of indoor common spaces, a library for reading or using the computer, and spots for socializing, relaxing, or joining group activities and outings, which range from shopping trips to fishing, local dining, and entertainment brought in by musical or school groups. An activities director plans the days and keeps things lively, so people aren't left with nothing to do.

Orchard Hill encourages friendships and companionship between staff and residents, and they have a reputation for being friendly, helpful, and kind, and that same warm feeling stretches to visitors, too. There's memory care for those who need extra help, but people who want to live more independently can do that as well, and everyone gets a care plan matched to their likes and needs. People pick the services that fit their life, which can be as simple as personal care or as much as counseling and supervision.

They won awards like Best of Senior Living, Best of Senior Living All Star, and Best Activities, which shows they're trying to make things pleasant for folks. Devotional and offsite activities help residents feel connected, and they can even take a handicapped accessible bus for outings. Studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and semi-private rooms are available, so people can choose what suits their lifestyle. Meals come with a focus on quality and nutrition, and daily life is set up to support both social interaction and independence, helping people feel at home, comfortable, and included in the Orchard Hill community. Tours can be scheduled to meet staff and residents and see how day-to-day life goes.
