    Great staff, home poorly run

I loved the staff and owners — they treated my brother like family and genuinely improved his life. Unfortunately the home itself is poorly run and unprofessional, a poor value, so I can't recommend it; look elsewhere.

    About Universal Health Services LLC

Universal Health Services LLC, found at 1359 Knoll Drive in Shakopee, Minnesota, runs a group of senior living communities and home care services for older adults and those living with disabilities, and while there's not much flashy talk about them, they do offer different levels of care including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing, so someone who needs light help with errands or more serious full-time care can find options. They accept residents for both short-term respite care and long-term living, providing things like 24-hour skilled nursing, rehabilitation, medication help, and help with daily activities such as bathing, cooking, or managing medications, and they include specialized programs for memory care in secure settings for folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, with activities meant to help keep minds active in a safe space. Clients who stay in these communities get a choice of private or semi-private rooms, each fully furnished with housekeeping and linen services, along with kitchenettes and meals provided, and amenities like dining rooms, activity rooms, outdoor gardens, beauty salons, and space for pets if someone wants a companion animal nearby. They have scheduled activities each day, both resident-run and community-sponsored, aiming to keep people active and connected, and they've got medical staff and professionals making regular visits and keeping up with new care techniques to help meet all the different challenges that come with aging, disabilities, or chronic illness. Their several homes, with distinctive names such as Andover Home, Bloomington Home, and Bloomington MOA Home, focus on keeping folks comfortable and as independent as possible, whether someone needs help for intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral or mental health challenges, or is recovering from brain injuries or facing complex medical issues, all under a model that emphasizes safety, security, and tailored care. They've also made employment opportunities available for caregivers and nursing staff-including jobs for CNAs, LPNs/LVNs, and RNs-and provide regular training to their team, aiming for reliable, professional care, and although they don't accept Medicare unless certified, they hold an A+ rating with the BBB and get licensed through local and state oversight authorities like the Department of Aging. Transportation is offered for getting to doctor's appointments and errands, so people can stay involved with their routines, and families can worry less. Universal Health Services LLC supports both home health care and community-based living, offering care in the comfort of someone's home or in one of their facilities, all focused on improving lives and making sure each person's unique needs are front and center.
