    About Ackerberg Sholom West

Ackerberg Sholom West sits in the Knollwood neighborhood of Minneapolis, right off Highway 169 and Highway 7, at 3620 Phillips Parkway, and is part of the Sholom Community Alliance, which is a not-for-profit group that serves older adults across Minneapolis/St. Louis Park and St. Paul. The campus offers a full range of care, starting with independent living, going through assisted living, and including memory care for people with Alzheimer's and dementia. Staff provide help however needed, 24 hours a day, across services like skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, respite stays, and hospice care, so there's always someone ready for high acuity and non-ambulatory care, help with diabetes, incontinence, and daily tasks like bathing and dressing. Apartments are comfortable with bright natural light, private bathrooms, wheelchair accessible showers, and the place feels homey, with safety measures throughout.

The community follows both kosher and non-kosher diets and has a dining program with nutritious choices, special diet planning, and a family kitchen and dining room for visitors. Residents and guests can enjoy courtyards, walking paths, and both indoor and outdoor spaces like a swimming pool, library, chapel, and recreation rooms, with transportation services, parking, and amenities like beauty/barber shops and a deli. Housekeeping, linen, and laundry help is available, and pets like cats and dogs are welcome. Medical and therapy services are provided right on campus, including x-ray, labs, dental, podiatry, orthopedic, optometry, audiology, medication management, and support from interdisciplinary care teams and a medical director.

Residents have access to therapy clinics for physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and programs encourage people to stay active with a calendar of social activities, music and pet therapy, creative arts, and offsite group trips. The staff includes spiritual leaders, so there's an on-site rabbi, visiting clergy, and interfaith services in the chapel for Jewish, Christian, and other faiths. The campus design features connected walkways linking to other Sholom care communities. There's always something going on, whether it's devotional activities, recreation, or family events, and trained staff ensure each person is treated with dignity, respect, and personal attention. There are 139 beds, all with private bathrooms and showers, and services adjust to fit needs, whether for a short rehab stay, long-term skilled nursing, or compassionate end-of-life care.
