Beachfront veteran housing with drawbacks
I've lived here 19 months and love it - beachfront, newly rebuilt after the hurricane, all-inclusive rent, lots of activities, and a genuinely veteran-focused, welcoming atmosphere. Staff are caring and often go above and beyond (they accommodated a birthday, helped my dad, and resolved problems when reached). My biggest issues: the military-status-based pricing feels unfair - I ended up paying well over twice what others pay after the Oct 2018 rate hike, which strained my finances and raised concerns about AFRC budget decisions. Responsiveness can be poor: phones hard to reach, tours difficult to schedule, and an unfriendly security guard was a negative. Despite that, I highly recommend this facility to qualified veterans.
