    Friendly active community, minor issues

I moved into The Waterford and I'm very happy - the staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful, residents are welcoming, the building is bright, clean and well-maintained, meals are generally excellent, and there are tons of activities, outings and on-site rehab/transportation. Apartments range from cozy studios to spacious two-beds; it's safe and community-focused. It is on the pricier side and I've noticed occasional food, staffing or management hiccups, but overall it's a caring, active place I'd recommend.

About The Waterford on Highland Colony

The Waterford on Highland Colony sits in a peaceful area and serves adults over 55 with many types of care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for those with Alzheimer's disease or dementia. This place belongs to Sonida Senior Living and works with programs like Magnolia Trails™ for specialized memory care, which means people with cognitive challenges can stay safe and engaged. Residents get help with daily needs such as dressing and taking medicine, and the staff stays on hand at all hours in case someone needs something, and people often mention how friendly and helpful everyone is.

The apartments have nice touches like white kitchen cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and dark wood-look floors with speckled countertops, and people can choose studios or one-bedroom layouts that suit different needs, and they say the rooms stay clean and well kept. The dining rooms look elegant with white tablecloths, blue decorations, and chandeliers, and the meals get good reviews for taste and variety, with a special touch like wine on Fridays and nutritious options each day, and there's no need to worry about cooking or chores since those things get handled for you.

Daily life brings exercise classes, movies, religious services, games, and fun events that make it easier to meet others, and there's a fitness center, beauty parlor, and comfortable common spaces like a cozy library or activity room, as well as walking paths, a garden, a patio with a pergola, and outdoor spots with plants and places to sit, while people who want to get out can use the transportation service for errands or outings. Magnolia Trails™ provides a safe and supportive space for people with memory trouble, and the staff designs activities that help with socializing, moving around, and keeping minds active, and they use individual plans so each person gets the right support.

People say the environment feels welcoming because of friendly staff, open areas, and well-decorated spaces, and the community stays pet-friendly and easy to use for those with mobility needs, with high-speed Wi-Fi and handy amenities nearby. The facility holds a solid rating of 8.4 from resident feedback, and it's won recognition like Best of Senior Living for quality meals and services. There's also hospice waiver care, on-site skilled nursing, and even home care for seniors who only need companionship and basic help at home. The Waterford on Highland Colony keeps a focus on making life comfortable and supportive for seniors, with different levels of help all under one roof, so people can move between care types if their needs change, and the whole place is meant to be a community where older adults can stay active, safe, and cared for.
