    Clean caring community with excellent

I toured this smaller, very clean, well-maintained community and was impressed by the attentive, caring staff and family-like atmosphere. The food is excellent, there are many activities (pandemic slowed some events but engagement has returned), and staff and administration consistently went above and beyond - great value and close to the hospital. It wasn't the right fit for my mother's higher care needs, but our overall experience was wonderful and I would recommend it.

    About Montgomery Gardens

Montgomery Gardens is a senior living community for people over 55 years old, and folks can pick from shared or private rooms with prices starting at $3,500 a month, and they do try to keep things comfortable with all rooms coming fully furnished, though residents can always bring their own things to make the place feel more personal. Residents can get help with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, or taking medicines, and there's always staff available day and night for personal assistance, and nursing care is managed by a Director of Nursing, which means someone is keeping an eye on everyone's health needs. For folks needing more care, Montgomery Gardens offers memory care where a team helps those with Alzheimer's or dementia by keeping things calm and reducing confusion and wandering, while other areas support more independent seniors who want a hassle-free, social lifestyle without having to worry about chores or meal prep.

The meals come from menus with fresh ingredients, including snacks between meals, and the kitchen pays attention to special diets like low/no sugar or low/no sodium if a doctor recommends it, plus there are guest meals and private dining rooms if someone wants to celebrate a special occasion with their family, and they even have cookouts and picnics when the weather's nice. People get their laundry and housekeeping taken care of, and there are dry-cleaning services too, so residents don't need to fuss with chores much and can spend more time on things that matter to them. The hair salon, barber shop, and onsite beautician help people keep up with self-care without leaving the building. There's a piano or organ in the common area, and folks can enjoy both indoor and outdoor spaces, a TV lounge, and activities throughout the week, including a well-stocked calendar with fitness, social outings, and creative programs to support body and mind.

The Live Well program focuses on physical and mental well-being, and there's always something to do, whether it's games, social time, or educational events, and the staff keeps up with special training to better help the residents. For spiritual care, devotional services happen off site and religious services are nearby, with Calvary Baptist Church just down the street. If someone wants to step out for a coffee, the 929 Coffee Bar is close, and there's easy access to medical facilities like the Oktibbeha County Hospital. Transportation is complimentary, parking is available for those who drive, and there are wheelchair-accessible showers and ground floor units to help with mobility. Montgomery Gardens also provides respite stays for those who need short-term help, and there's help for emotional needs, grief support, and guidance with Medicare. The facility welcomes partnerships with hospice and palliative care.

People seem to say the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is good, and things are kept clean, and the community has a reputation for supporting independence while making sure care is always close when it's needed. The place is managed by Americare Senior Living, it's both locally owned and verified, and care gets adjusted as needs change with time. There's no public info on their specific terms of service or unique branded programs, but the overall approach at Montgomery Gardens keeps the focus on comfort, safety, and enjoying life as a senior, whether you want independence or need more support as time goes on.
