    Compassionate beautiful community, minor issues

I placed my parent here and I'm very glad I did - the staff and management (Brenda and the nurses especially) are compassionate, proactive and communicate clearly, giving me real peace of mind. The facility is beautiful, very clean, on a lovely hillside near Branson with deer sightings, private balconies, lovely furnishings and plenty of amenities (pool/hot tub, gym, game room, theater, chapel, beauty/barber). Residents stay independent in apartment-style living with 24/7 help, thorough medication management, active social programming and good value under $3,000/month. Minor drawbacks: meals can be hit-or-miss and evenings feel a bit understaffed at times, and emergency response/evacuation was slower than I'd like - overall I'd return and recommend it.

    About The Oaks Retirement Community

The Oaks Retirement Community sits on a hillside in Branson, where you often see deer roaming nearby, and the grounds have patios and balconies looking out at Lake Taneycomo, so there's a peaceful feeling most days, and the natural setting with walking paths lets residents watch wildlife while enjoying the outdoors. The community offers both Assisted Living and Independent Living options, so residents can get help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and medication management if they want, or live without the worries of cooking and maintenance if that's what they prefer. Staff give care around the clock, with licensed physicians and nurses providing oversight, and you can always get help since there's a 24-hour call system, and everybody's pretty well looked after by a team known for being compassionate and treating folks like family, which families and residents seem to appreciate since the place gets good ratings for its care.

Rooms are comfortable, with several floor plans including private and semiprivate suites, and the clean, senior-friendly furnishings and natural lighting make things feel homey, plus meals are made to taste good and meet special dietary needs like allergies or diabetes. The Oaks handles chores like housekeeping, laundry-even dry cleaning-so residents don't have to worry about those things, and there's plenty for people to do since the Activities Coordinator puts on movie nights, runs arts programs, keeps up a garden, and organizes resident-run events and activities that focus on keeping the mind, body, and spirit active with social, physical, and emotional engagement. You'll find amenities like a dining room with all-day dining, a barber and salon, furnished common areas, emergency alert systems, transportation, and parking, which make getting around and staying comfortable easier.

With a focus on person-centered care, The Oaks lets residents keep as much independence as they want, supporting privacy and choice while supplying a continuum of care so folks can stay in the same community as their needs change over time. The staff coordinates with healthcare providers, manages medications, and is always there if more assistance is needed, and the place fits the description of a Continuing Care Retirement Community, with services tailored for seniors at any stage. The Oaks also offers information and news with programs like "Chamber News," "Lakes Area Leadership Academy," and "Chamber in Action," and keeps residents connected through a blog on senior topics and a Facebook page, so there's a sense of community and support right alongside good care.
