    Clean friendly facility staffing caveat

I moved in quickly and immediately felt relief - the facility is very clean, reasonably priced, the meals taste good and the residents socialize, and the staff and manager are friendly and caring. I sleep peacefully and feel taken care of, though understaffing and occasional single-caregiver lapses have led to poor care at times despite regulator visits. Overall I recommend it, with that staffing caveat.

    About Bristol Manor of Elsberry

Bristol Manor of Elsberry is a senior living community located at 1402 Riverview Dr. in Elsberry, MO 63343, and it stays pretty small, with room for just twelve residents who are called neighbors, which means folks often get to know each other in a warm, homelike environment that feels personal rather than crowded, and the place has won awards including Best of Senior Living and Most Friendly in Senior Living, which speaks to a good level of care and the kind attitudes of the staff, who are on-site 24 hours a day with a live-in administrator and certified medication staff to help. The community offers several types of daily support, from independent living and assisted living to adult day care and memory care for those who have Alzheimer's or other memory issues, plus specialized care programs and residential care services for seniors needing a bit more help, and there's also skilled nursing and options for home care. Studio bedrooms have private restrooms and individual temperature controls, and safety is built in, with emergency call systems in the living area and bathrooms, walk-in tubs, home security, and technology help like medical alert systems, cell phones, and hearing aid resources. They provide meals every day in a communal dining area with restaurant-style service and a set menu, including nutrition for special diets like diabetes or allergies, and there's housekeeping, laundry service, and even a phone in every room. Residents can join in onsite and offsite devotional services, daily activities, arts in the craft room, movie nights, scheduled entertainment, and outdoor and indoor common spaces like a lounge, library, walking paths, and a garden, so socializing is easy, and for those who want to stay active, you'll find community-sponsored and resident-run events, plus transportation to appointments and outings is available at cost, with resident parking too. Nurses are on staff, a doctor is on call, and visiting healthcare workers, including therapists and a podiatrist, check in for therapy and care needs, so things like medication management, help with bathing, transfers, diabetes care, and incontinence reminders are all covered. The community also provides adult day watch, respite care for families needing a break, and hospice for residents with advanced health needs, along with companion care, retirement housing options, and independent senior apartments or condos, making it useful for those who want different levels of support as their needs change over time. The environment is relaxed, with a focus on keeping residents independent while still helping with things like dressing, transfers, and medicine, and there are always staff around in emergencies, so seniors and families have peace of mind. The building sits near a busline for easier transportation, and the overall atmosphere feels inviting, with efforts made to help each neighbor settle in and live well, even though the community's 5.9 out of 10 rating suggests there may be areas that could improve.
