    Poor care, billing, infection; avoid

I placed my parent here and came away disappointed. The staff were helpful and the room was clean with regular activities and full skilled-nursing available, but they're clearly understaffed and overworked - long wait times and poor supervision are routine. Billing/Medicaid paperwork was a nightmare, administration keeps turning over, and infection control (hand hygiene) seemed lax - I worried about C-diff risk. The building is dated and shabby, not worth the price; I would avoid.

About Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home

Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home sits among big trees with lots of green grass, and you'll find 90 beds in one single-floor building, which makes it easier to move around. The nursing home cares for people who need daily medical support, so you'll see registered nurses and trained caregivers on-site all day and night, helping with daily activities, meals, escorting, and medical needs. Residents get three healthy meals a day, and they bring trays to those who need to stay in bed while recovering, which is thoughtful, and every week, staff handle housekeeping and change the linens, which keeps everything tidy and comfortable. Both private and semi-private rooms are available, so you can pick a room that works best for your needs, and the rooms are kept quiet for privacy and rest, which helps people feel at home.

People living here can go outside safely thanks to a secure outdoor area, and there's a library for anyone who enjoys reading or quiet time. Staff run plenty of activities, like chair exercises, arts and crafts, card games, visits from volunteers, religious services, and even aromatherapy, with both group and one-on-one options depending on how much company someone wants. Volunteers and families can take part, making the place feel part of a bigger community, and there's a special focus on making sure each resident's social and emotional needs are met.

For those needing more medical support or specialty care, Maple Grove Lodge offers a wide range of therapies, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as rehabilitation like range of motion exercises, balance training, and electrical stimulation. There's full memory care for Alzheimer's and dementia, and they even have a special program called Autumn Court, which is designed for people with dementia-related conditions who need extra supervision and tailored activities, all in a home-like setting. When residents need care for a short time, maybe to let a family caregiver take a break or after a hospital stay, the nursing home offers respite care, hospice, adult day care, and even in-home services that follow some people home after they leave.

Staff pay close attention to each person's needs, focusing on safety, dignity, personalized support, and the overall well-being of both residents and their families. They accept a wide range of payment sources, like private pay, Medicaid, managed care, Medicare-DMH, private insurance, and some others. The meals are home-cooked, the rooms stay peaceful, and the nursing and support staff try to give honest, personal care every day-you'll find a steady routine and caring hands for those who need the support.
