    Resident poor care many problems

I live here - the residents are wonderful and a few staff are kind, but overall I'm disappointed: many staff seem unqualified, we've experienced medication errors, bed bugs and poor hygiene, the food is awful, rooms are run-down, and there are no activities.

    About Hidden Acres Assisted Living

Hidden Acres Assisted Living sits in a peaceful, rural part of Sainte Genevieve, MO, and offers seniors a calm place surrounded by natural beauty and walking trails, which a lot of folks find makes for a comfortable setting when looking for a little quiet away from town. The community has 36 beds, with both private and semi-private rooms, and some of these spaces come with a kitchenette, so residents can keep some independence while getting help as needed. There are board and care homes for smaller groups, and the living spaces are furnished for safety and easy movement, which can help when someone wants things simple and close by. The staff help residents with things like bathing, dressing, moving around, and taking medicine, and there's supervision and personal care 24 hours a day, which seems to ease worry for families.

Hidden Acres Assisted Living has a memory care unit with specialized support and activities meant to help those with Alzheimer's disease or dementia, and the caregivers there focus on safety and regular routines, along with some memory-enhancing programs that keep people as engaged as possible. There's a range of assisted living services for folks who might need daily help but don't need a nursing home, so it fits those who want to keep some freedom while staying safe. The place works for people using Medicaid or VA benefits, plus it takes pride in being friendly to both geriatric and low intellect residents, which is important for families looking for options.

You'll find meals provided, and they offer special diets if needed, with help for arranging rides to medical appointments. Housekeeping and laundry are part of the service, and the rooms have both free Wi-Fi and telephone access for staying in touch, so it's easier to keep up with family or news. Community activities and daily programs keep folks busy and encourage friendships, which helps fight loneliness. Social spaces and planned recreation give people ways to stay active and make the most of each day. Hidden Acres Assisted Living also gives short-term respite care, so caregivers get a break if they need one, and the whole place aims to stay warm, welcoming, and respectful of each resident's own path and needs. It's a licensed facility focused on providing a caring, secure place for seniors who need a little extra help in day-to-day life.
