    Neglectful, profit-driven facility harming residents

I lived here and saw huge staff turnover, unprofessional and often disrespectful behavior, plus retaliation and what felt like state-rights violations tied to a profit-driven owner. Food was inconsistent—often lacking or poor, though a few staff were friendly and some meals were very good. Overall residents suffered in what felt like a government-funded money scheme.

    About Holly Hills Retirement Home

Holly Hills Retirement Home in Saint Louis, MO provides residential care with personalized support for older adults, where residents can get help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, medication, and transfers, and they prepare chef-planned meals using high-quality ingredients that can be adjusted for allergies or diabetes, so if someone has special dietary needs, they'll get balanced nutrition each day. The community keeps things comfortable and safe by offering a small, home-like environment for up to 26 people, and staff focus on kindness and hospitality so everyone feels welcome and supported, because sometimes just having someone around who cares can make all the difference, especially when you might need some help but also want to keep your independence as long as you can. Holly Hills provides both assisted living and board and care home options, which means there's both help for those who need regular support, as well as more independent living for those who prefer it, along with a memory care unit for seniors dealing with memory loss, Alzheimer's, or dementia, where staff monitor residents to prevent wandering and lessen confusion. Residents get housekeeping, laundry, regular meals in a social dining room, and group activities every day, including things like movie nights, board games, music and pet therapy, crafts, gardening, community garden walks, and even trips to doctor appointments or faith services, so people can keep busy or socialize when they want to. The facility has a range of features like a book room, jacuzzi, sauna, salon, outdoor spaces, game areas, and club rooms, along with emergency alert systems and transportation help, with regular scheduled events and move-in coordination for new residents. Non-ambulatory care and help with transfers is available for residents with mobility problems, and the staff coordinate with healthcare providers as needed, covering things like medication management and care for conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. Overall, Holly Hills Retirement Home aims for comfort, security, and a sense of home, with enough activities and support to keep seniors as active and independent as they can be, all in a warm, caring setting where people can make friends, relax, and get whatever level of help matches their needs, and while they don't have every detail about every little service on the website, the facility is licensed for assisted living and known for providing basic daily care, well-being programs, and memory support for seniors in a medium-sized, private, and friendly environment.
