    Kind staff and accessible facility

I love Madison House. The staff are kind, caring and responsive - Brittany, Dawn and Christy stood out - and they truly go above and beyond. The facility is spotless, well-managed and very accessible (roomy layouts, accessible showers, plenty of space for walkers/wheelchairs and outdoor areas). Meals are good and activities (Bible study, music, crafts, bingo) keep residents joyful even with COVID limits; they also offer doctor-ride options. I highly recommend it.

    About Madison House

Madison House in Norfolk, Nebraska, sits at 1120 N First St and belongs to the Oxford Senior Living family, and they offer a wide range of care like independent living, assisted living, memory care, respite care, and even home care, and folks there find support all day, every day, with staff around the clock, including part-time nurses and personal care assistants who help with things like medication, bathing, dressing, and health monitoring, and the community includes different floor plans such as private and semi-private rooms and kitchenette amenities for those who enjoy some independence. Residents can bring their pets, enjoy a secure, gated campus with walking paths and gardens, relax in Jacuzzi tubs or spa rooms, and visit the on-site beauty salon, library, and computer room, plus there's cable TV in common areas, fireplaces, and plenty of spaces for group activities. Folks living at Madison House can count on three meals a day prepared by a professional chef, and there's restaurant-style dining, room service, and an onsite private dining room for special occasions, with menus that accommodate diabetic, low salt, vegetarian, or low fat diets and snacks available anytime. The community offers a lot of activities to keep everyone busy and connected, from arts and crafts, music, reading in the library, tabletop games, gardening, and outings for shopping, fishing stories, and church services, with both online and in-person faith options led by a visiting chaplain or rabbi, so everyone's spiritual needs are covered. For those who need a break from caregiving at home, the respite care services give families a bit of rest, and rehab services like occupational, physical, and speech therapy, even aquatic therapy, help residents stay active or recover when needed, plus in-home health care and pharmacy services are right on site along with hospice support, so no one has to move if care needs change. The campus is fully handicap accessible, with emergency call systems and safety features in every area, and families can visit anytime, join a meal, or ride along for a field trip, and scheduled transportation is available for doctor visits, shopping, or local events. Housekeeping, laundry, and linen services take chores off residents' to-do list, and the maintenance team keeps everything working and tidy, and families pay with checks, insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare, which helps with planning. The community keeps an eye on residents' health and well-being with medication reminders and management, incontinence and diabetic care, and staff ready to support at all hours, and the care team encourages everyone to join in activities, swap recipes, or just gather around the piano in the living room so life feels familiar and friendly. Madison House tries to be a place where older adults can keep some independence if they want, find help when they need it, and have access to activities, companionship, security, and health services in one setting, regardless if they're here for a short stay or a new home.
