    Great staff, cramped rooms, pricey

I live here and the staff are excellent and resident-first (administrator Cindy is great) - friendly, responsive, and the activities (Bingo, puzzles, dominoes) make it feel homey. Rooms are very small and private rooms are expensive, so rent feels high. Food is hit-or-miss for the price. Owner seems profit-driven; Medicaid is accepted.

    About Rose Haven

Rose Haven sits at the edge of Merrimack, New Hampshire, with fields and trees around and the Merrimack River nearby, and lets residents enjoy both quiet moments and a bit of exploration. This community fits seniors who want independence or might need care, because it offers assisted living, nursing home care, and memory care for people living with Alzheimer's or dementia, and there are nurses and staff around all hours, helping with emergencies, medications, and things like moving between bed and wheelchair, or keeping an eye on insulin for anyone with diabetes. Residents live in a split-level, rustic building with shared and private rooms, and there's a home-like feeling on the inside, with large sitting rooms for puzzles or Bingo, a cafe, a pub, billiards, sports viewing, and even a beauty salon and barber shop. There are gardens and walking trails outside, and pets are allowed too, so folks can keep their animals with them. Meals-breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks-get cooked by chefs and planned for nutrition and flavor, and dining rooms always feel friendly. Staff handle laundry, housecleaning, and other chores, which lets everyone focus on activities and events, and there are always things happening, like gardening, bridge clubs, ice cream socials, fitness classes, and planned outings into town. Wi-Fi works for connecting to friends or using Facebook, and transportation helps with errands or getting to appointments. The building is easy to get around for people who use wheelchairs or walkers, because there's help with getting around if needed and everything stays accessible. Rose Haven focuses on keeping life simple, safe, social, and comfortable for people who want a mix of independence and support as they age.
