    Compassionate staff but concerning lapses

I'm grateful for many truly caring, professional staff - therapy helped my dad regain independence, communication was strong, meals and activities were good, and COVID safety was handled well. That said, I witnessed disturbing lapses: dismissive nurses, wounds and incontinence left unattended, spotty rehab, staffing/qualification concerns after a buyout, and dated/sometimes unsanitary conditions. Overall the people are wonderful, but I'd advise caution - inspect staffing, rehab services and cleanliness before committing.

    About Rochester Manor

Rochester Manor sits in a quiet suburban area with lovely gardens, sunrooms, a fireplace in the living room, and scenic views, and it's designed for people who need nursing home care, assisted living, memory care, or help for advanced medical conditions. People stay at Rochester Manor for different reasons like short-term rehab after the hospital, long-term care for illnesses such as heart disease, Alzheimer's, stroke, or even acute care, and the place offers a safe and comfortable spot for end-of-life hospice care with private hospice rooms and spiritual support from clergy and social workers when needed. People can get respite care if families need a break or extra help for a short while, and Rochester Manor also serves those who want to recover at home through their home health care, home care, and palliative care services.

This facility is part of Genesis HealthCare and belongs to the New Hampshire Health Care Association, and it partners with the National Alliance for Care at Home and the We Honor Veterans community, and it's been given the AHCA Bronze Quality Award. Rochester Manor has a team of registered nurses, therapists, and attending physicians who offer skilled nursing, physical, speech, occupational, respiratory, and contract rehabilitation therapies, including for orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, and joint replacements, along with wound, psychiatric, and bariatric care, colostomy support, pain, diabetic, incontinence management, and special dementia services, plus help for those who need non-ambulatory or heparin therapy.

You'll find private and semi-private apartments, each with spacious rooms, private bathrooms, tubs, and wheelchair accessible showers, plus climate control and air conditioning-some rooms even have internet, phone, and in-room dining. The facility stays smoke-free and offers laundry, housekeeping, recreation and cultural programs, spiritual and grief counseling, and pet therapy, and there's always something to do with their activity rooms, wellness and fitness spaces, music, religious, social events, and visiting options both on and off site. Residents eat meals served daily, with vegetarian choices, restaurant-style dining, and a café that always has menu items, plus hospitality like spa and beauty salon/barber services.

Rochester Manor takes care of daily needs like help with bathing, meals, getting around, medical needs, medication management, pharmacy delivery, dietary planning, pain control, and wound care, and it has emergency systems, transportation, and plenty of resident parking. Because some folks need special services, there's language help with French spoken, VA contracted care, and Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance are accepted. People regularly hold care conferences to update plans so each resident gets their own attention. Recent reviews from around 27 families or residents rate Rochester Manor about 4.5 out of 5 stars, which speaks to the steady, thoughtful care you'll find if you visit or stay.
