    Caring staff homey but stairs

I had a very positive experience placing my mother here - Elaine and the director were incredibly helpful and responsive (even after hours), the owner/administrator is hands-on, and Gail kept the place cleaner than most. The old mansion is bright, warm and homey; staff were caring, fun and attentive, and my mom lived comfortably for five years and passed away while well cared for. Biggest drawbacks: steep, dangerous stairs to the second floor and a cramped, crowded dining room - not wheelchair-friendly.

    About Rosewood Manor LLC

Rosewood Manor LLC sits at 2 Church Street in Rochester, NH, and has a long, wide porch out front where folks like to sit and watch the day. The building's an old mansion, with a grand staircase, quite a few old fireplaces, over 20 chandeliers, high ceilings, and plenty of light coming in from tall windows, so you feel like you're someplace special, but also at home. There are only 19 beds, so it stays quiet and feels more like a family setting. The place is run by As Life Goes On LLC, and Danielle Lafayette acts as the administrator. It's a two-story home with a mix of historic rooms and well-designed, spacious apartments, some with safety features built in, and there are private rooms for folks who want their own space. For gatherings, there's a big living room, dining room, kitchen, lots of nooks for sitting with a book, and on nice days, folks head outside to the gardens or covered porch.

Rosewood Manor offers assisted living services and boutique-style memory care for those who need extra help or special attention. The staff are friendly, always about, and trained to help with dressing, bathing, health management, medication, housekeeping, laundry, and meal service. There's a nurse on staff, and a doctor on call, along with visits from podiatrists and dentists when folks need them. They'll also help with showering, diabetic care, and incontinence care. Safety means a lot here, so they've got wheelchair accessible showers and keep smoking away from all indoor spaces. The home lets folks have pets, which many residents seem to enjoy.

The kitchen turns out homemade meals three times a day, always with snacks in between, and the kitchen staff try to fit in with special diets, even vegetarian or other preferences, and residents can choose between family-style or private dining. Each morning, there's an exercise program, and residents can join in on activities like bingo, off-site trips on the bus to a picnic or a lake, shopping, or entertainment both on-site and off. Transportation is complimentary for appointments and group outings, and if someone's family or friends want to visit from nearby towns like Somersworth, Barrington, Durham, Dover, or Portsmouth, parking is easy. Hospice, respite, or homecare services are available, giving families a break or extra support when needed.

Rosewood Manor doesn't allow smoking inside, and folks can rest easy with staff around all the time. Residents here often stay busy with activities, and the place tries to make it easy for people to socialize or enjoy peace and quiet. Folks seem to like the home-cooked meals, the beautiful old house, friendly staff, and the chance to spend their days how they choose. Rosewood Manor holds a 4.5-star rating based on reviews and aims to help everyone stay as independent and comfortable as possible.
