    Resident praises compassionate attentive care

I've lived here seven years and couldn't be happier. The staff are compassionate, attentive, and truly go above and beyond, with hands-on leadership and owners onsite who respond to concerns. The facility is immaculate, home-like, beautifully landscaped, with bright spacious rooms, delicious meals, plenty of activities and excellent memory care. I feel safe, respected and well cared for - I highly recommend this place.

    About Loudonville Assisted Living Residence

Loudonville Assisted Living Residence sits in a quiet, wooded area in Loudonville, housed in a Tudor-style manor with well-kept gardens and a sunroom for relaxing or watching the seasons change, and while the building itself looks historic and is decorated with classic charm, the inside is modern and built for comfort, with wheelchair accessible rooms, showers, and space for folks to bring pets or add personal touches so their apartment feels like home. The residence is small, only fifty people in total, which means each resident gets more personal attention and the staff, who've been led by the Levine family for over fifty years, really try to know everyone's story, what they like to eat, who prefers a quiet nook or who enjoys joining games and kitchen chats. They've got several types of care available all in one place: Traditional Assisted Living, Enhanced Assisted Living with extra support, and The Gerald Levine Center for Memory Care for people with Alzheimer's or other memory challenges, which seems to help couples who may need different levels of care stay together under the same roof, instead of having to split up if things change.

The health care is handled by licensed nurses who can help with monitoring, medication, and arranging doctor visits, while on-site doctors, podiatrists, and therapists come in regularly, so people don't have to rush around town for everything, and the emergency call system lets someone call for help anytime, day or night. There's three home-cooked meals a day, served restaurant-style with a focus on taste and decent ingredients, so residents don't have to worry about cooking or cleaning up, though they do have access to snacks and drinks throughout the day, and if someone wants their hair done, the full-service salon is open five days a week, which is handy when you want to look nice for visitors or just feel like yourself. Housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance are included, so families won't need to handle the usual chores, and there's convenient parking for residents plus transportation provided for appointments, errands, or trips out, and the place is wheelchair friendly too.

Memory care stands out here as they have a secured area in The Gerald Levine Center with safe gardens and quiet lounges for those known to wander or get confused, which helps people feel more at ease, and there's skilled support for incontinence and non-ambulatory care, along with medication management and unlimited personal help as needed. They also provide hospice and respite care, so folks and their families have some relief or support in tough times, and plenty of activities are planned both inside and out to keep minds and bodies busy-sometimes that's a devotional service, sometimes it's games, crafting, or group chats in one of the sunny common areas, or even trips around the area if people feel up to it. Residents who don't want to be bothered by smoking rules can find certain areas set aside for them.

This is a kind of all-inclusive setup, where one monthly fee covers most daily needs, and care adjusts as residents' needs change over time, aiming to help everyone enjoy independence as long as possible without having to move again or leave friends behind. For those who like to keep faith a part of their routine, devotional and religious activities are on offer, and the staff put a focus on dignity and respect, treating each person as part of their extended family. Reviews suggest it's not perfect but does a decent job, with an average rating of 3.8 based on forty-two opinions, which sometimes means a lot, and sometimes just depends on who you ask.
