Homey setting, caring staff, concerns
I appreciated the homey Victorian setting: friendly, caring staff, good home-cooked food, lots of activities and large private rooms close to shops and restaurants. However management was often hostile and unresponsive, phone/Internet access was limited, belongings were mishandled after my father died, and I observed safety, cleanliness and code concerns that even prompted a state inquiry. Mixed feelings - excellent caregivers but serious administrative and safety red flags, so involve family and verify licensing before committing.
