    Warm staff, great food, inconsistent

I live here and have mixed feelings: the staff are warm, attentive, and often go the extra mile with outings, haircuts and personalized care, but nursing responsiveness can be inconsistent and basic care is sometimes neglected. The food is usually a highlight-an amazing chef, wide variety, low-sodium options and holiday/rib/baked chicken meals that feel homemade-though I've seen the occasional burnt/frozen plate. Rooms could use updating and better cleaning.

    About Adirondack Manor

Adirondack Manor sits at 653 Bay Rd in Queensbury, NY, and the place is managed by Nova Senior Living, which means it's taken care of and looked after throughout the year, with good views of Lake George and the hills around Queensbury that you can see from the property, and the building itself offers all the usual senior care things you'd expect, like 24-hour supervision, housekeeping, laundry, three meals a day by professional chefs with restaurant-style dining and snacks, and the staff help residents with things like taking medicine or getting dressed if needed, and if someone needs a little more help with standing up or moving from the bed to a wheelchair, the staff can assist with that too, but they focus a lot on lighter care here, asking that people can manage their own diabetes or incontinence and offering standby support when needed. The community has rooms that are private or shared, all rooms being furnished plus they've got private bathrooms, kitchenettes, air conditioning, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and phones in every room, so everyone can be comfortable and connected, and there's also an activity director, a case management service, nursing care up to 12-16 hours a day, and even on-site physical therapy. People can get specialized care, like Alzheimer's and memory care, and there's hospice service offered for those who need it. Adirondack Manor keeps things homelike, encourages folks to spend time together in indoor areas like the dining room, activity room, game room, living room, and library, or outside on patios, in gardens, on community walking paths, and with outdoor programs, while scheduled fitness classes, spa wellness, and daily activities make sure residents stay active, and they even have a small movie theater, plus art and music programs for something different to do. There's always something going on with the community activity program, and movie nights, book clubs, social hours, or morning walks, and the residents can also go out often to places like Lake George Outlets, Crandal Park, or Hovey Park thanks to community-operated transportation, with a driver on staff and a van ready, so people aren't stuck inside. Amenities like a beauty salon open Monday to Friday, scheduled librarian visits every month, and regular podiatrist visits mean people don't have to go far for everyday needs, and meals meet special diets like for allergies or diabetes. Adirondack Manor is wheelchair accessible and can take care of people who can't walk, and the facility uses Electronic Visit Verification and a CRM system, which might matter to families who want to keep up with what's going on, and there's a family engagement program that tries to keep everyone in the loop. The staff pay attention to making the place feel homey, doing things like move-in coordination and offering all-inclusive options, whether someone wants a private or semi-private suite, and with both long-term care and supported housing in a secure setting, like with Cook Adult Home for people who need more help. People can join offsite devotional services, too, and the kitchen follows a food program called CACFP to make sure all meals are handled right. Adirondack Manor gives people a simple place to live, with enough help and enough options to stay involved and comfortable as they get older.
