    Clean quiet 55+ community; excellent

I toured and chose this clean, quiet 55+ community near the Capital Region and I'm very happy here. The staff are warm, knowledgeable, and know everyone by name; there are tons of activities and outings, a wonderful dining program, and a true family-like atmosphere. It's top-notch for quality of life-just be aware it can be a bit pricey.

    About Prestwick Chase at Saratoga

Prestwick Chase at Saratoga sits on 120 scenic acres right in the foothills of the Adirondacks, and people here live in independent apartments or countryside cottages, because it's a 55+ community and they've really made it so you don't have to worry about the chores of daily life, since the staff handles things like housekeeping, yard work, landscaping, shoveling snow, and even cleaning cars, plus there are no buy-ins or endowments, just yearly renewable leases so you know what to expect without surprise costs. The apartments come in five different floor plans, including studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units, and there are private cottages too, giving folks choices, and all the places are maintenance-free and designed for active seniors. Residents have access to dining rooms where you get daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but you can also cook for yourself in your own home if you want, and the menus change with a variety of meals, some included depending on what rental package you pick. Visiting families can stay in guest suites, and there are plenty of common spaces like lounges, fireplaces, and atriums, so there's always a place to sit or chat with neighbors, plus beautiful ponds, courtyards, and walking paths that make it nice to spend time outside. There's a strong focus on health and wellness, with a pool, fitness room, a health spa, and on-site physicians' suites, plus a unisex salon for haircuts or pedicures, and they even do pet engagement activities like pawdicure Wednesdays. Residents can use the shuttle bus for shopping, banking, and outings around the Capital District, and there's scheduled transportation for trips to local spots like the Saratoga Race Course, Saratoga Racino, and the Performing Arts Center. Inside the community center-called Excelsior Commons-you'll find an arts center, an activity room, billiards, card and game rooms, plus libraries stocked with daily papers and free Wi-Fi, and there's always something on the calendar, from breakfast and horse farm tours to book sales, races, craft classes, social hours, and movie nights, sometimes even open to family. Residents have storage units for their belongings, and the whole community has 24-hour security. No one has to worry about utilities, because those are provided, and the management keeps the place running with a friendly staff who make life a little easier by taking care of all the details and organizing social, cultural, and educational activities right on the property, with outings to museums, concerts, and restaurants too. Everything is set up so seniors can enjoy their independence in a safe place with a mix of amenities and support.
