    Caring staff, alarming safety lapses

I had a deeply mixed experience: many nurses and aides were loving, attentive, and helped the place feel homey, but I also witnessed alarming lapses - residents locked in rooms with no visitors, missed meds and meals, poor cleanliness (roaches), and staff who yelled or were unprofessional. Until leadership fixes safety and staffing, I can't fully recommend it.

    About Lindsay Manor Nursing Home

Lindsay Manor Nursing Home, also known as Lindsay Nursing & Rehab, sits in Lindsay, Oklahoma, with a Google Plus Code of R9PH+F4 and 106 beds, and you'll find it's a medium-sized, for-profit facility that offers both short-term rehab and long-term care for seniors. The staff call this a warm and inviting place, and with the Administrator, Jefferson White, leading, people get nursing home care, assisted living, independent living, and memory care all in the one building, which has private rooms that come fully furnished with air conditioning, cable, kitchenettes, and regular housekeeping and linen services, so families can feel a bit more at ease visiting their loved ones. The folks living there get all sorts of help with daily chores-bathing, dressing, eating, bathroom visits, medication administration-and if someone's got Alzheimer's or dementia, there's a special secure memory care area where staff use special programs and memory-friendly activities to keep residents safe, engaged, and less likely to wander. Nurses remain onsite all the time, giving round-the-clock skilled nursing care for those who need wound care, rehab, medication management, or medical oversight, and the staff gives an average of 3 hours and 36 minutes of care per resident each day-even on weekends, care levels stay high. There's short-term respite care, some hospice care, home health support, and companion care, and the dedicated team helps with recovery for those coming from the hospital, all while working hard to keep residents functioning well and feeling supported.

Amenities at Lindsay Manor range from a dining room serving chef-prepared meals, a computer center, a fitness room, a garden and outdoor spaces, a gaming room, and a wellness center to a small library for quiet afternoons, and residents enjoy restaurant-style dining with meals planned by chefs to keep food tasty and healthy. There's parking, transportation help for errands or appointments, and community-sponsored outings and activities, plus a calendar filled with things to do that help everyone stay social and active, which helps make days feel less lonely. Flu shots find nearly universal use every year-about 96.5% of the people get vaccinated-and falls and urgent problems stay rare, with staff reporting no major falls among short-term residents and tracking emergency room visits closely at rates below national averages. The building has passed many safety and health inspections, the latest in early 2024, and the nursing staff meets regulated caregiver-to-resident ratios, so there's plenty of help on hand at any hour. It's described as a safe, peaceful community where seniors thrive with personalized attention and support, whether they're looking for long-term comfort or just need a bit of help during recovery, and with its presence on Facebook and a property website, families can easily check for updates or learn more about activities and care options offered for the folks who live there.
