    Caring staff, neglectful medical care

I placed my mom here for a short stay and the CNAs and maintenance staff (Eric especially) were caring and felt family-like. Sadly the building was unbearably hot-AC didn't work for residents including my mom-and the interior smelled strongly of urine; the shared toilet was dirty and even flooded. Medical care felt inconsistent and neglectful: horrible meals, weight swings, bedsores that worsened, no showers for two weeks, teeth never brushed, nurses often stuck at the station, and unclear/contaminated labs with no answers. My loved one died while in their care and I never got clear explanations or refunded charges-the administration's handling felt dishonest. For the caring staff alone I'm grateful, but overall I would not recommend this facility.

    About Heritage Manor

Heritage Manor sits at 3804 N Barr Ave in Oklahoma City and runs as a small, for-profit care home with room for 55 people, and when walking down its hallways you'll see it's a place that takes care of older adults who need different levels of support, like assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, short-term rehab, respite care, hospice, and independent living, making it pretty flexible for most needs, and folks living here get help with daily things like bathing, dressing, medicines, meals, and moving around when they need it, and you can tell the staff try to help folks keep as much of their independence as possible, while also making sure there's always someone around-in fact, nurses are on hand nearly three hours a day per resident, and there's a 24-hour call system if anyone needs help fast.

You'll find the rooms are always clean, with regular housekeeping, fresh linens, private bathrooms, and air-conditioning, plus kitchenettes and furniture meant to make it easy to settle in, and folks can count on WiFi and cable TV along with phones in their rooms. Meals in the dining hall come restaurant-style and can fit special diets if needed, and people usually talk about how good the food is. The common areas include a fitness room, a dining room, a gaming room, a small library, outdoor spaces like a garden, a wellness center, a beauty salon, and a computer spot for emails or video calls. Residents can catch rides on the community van for outings, shopping, and doctor visits, and there are both medical and non-medical transportation options. There's always something happening-a schedule packed with exercise classes, social games, day trips, special events, and activities led by both staff and residents, and that seems to help people feel like they're part of a group, not just living alone.

Heritage Manor runs as an LLC, follows Medicare and Medicaid rules, and keeps a full roster of trained nurses and helpful staff who work hard to keep things safe and friendly, especially with their mental wellness program and skilled nursing team, and with their services tailored to both simple support and more complex care, and even short breaks for family caregivers. Materials and supplies are always well-stocked and rooms feel tidy. Heritage Manor is licensed and certified, and its staff stay focused on helping people keep their dignity, stay active, and find real connections, so people often feel respected and part of a true community.
