    Mostly good care; remain vigilant

I've had an overall positive experience - the facility is clean, well-run, and many staff are kind, professional and genuinely caring; my loved one received excellent, attentive care and I would recommend it. That said, I've seen occasional lapses (rude or unconcerned staff, a hallway odor during changes) and there are troubling reports of missed care, theft and medication issues that management must address. On balance I felt my family member was mostly in good hands, but stay vigilant.

    About Northwest Nursing Center

Northwest Nursing Center sits in Oklahoma City and serves older adults who need nursing care, rehab, or long-term support, with a name that people know in the area and a 2.3 rating from 16 reviews, so folks get a sense it might not be perfect but does provide what many need when health and daily life become a challenge, and around here you'll find both semi-private and private rooms with prices that run from $4,500 up to $7,000 a month, giving families some choices for housing based on what's needed and what fits their budget, and the center really focuses on skilled nursing care with 24-hour licensed nursing, personal support for things like bathing, dressing, walking, or even wheelchair help, and a team of healthcare workers including nurses, therapists, occupational therapy, wound care, and physician services, with added support like pain management, medication help, IV therapy, dialyisis transportation or even tracheostomy care when needed, and folks coming for recovery after surgery or an illness get access to therapy programs, pulmonary management, orthopedic and cerebral vascular accident care, and outpatient therapy, so there's a real emphasis on helping people reach their best level of independence again, plus they offer vacation care, hospice care, respite for home caregivers, and long-term stays when going home isn't an option.

The facility's been remodeled and aims for a comfortable, safe setting with both practical and pleasant touches like wifi, cable TV, guest parking, kitchens or kitchenettes, washers, dryers, a dining room, a salon/barbershop, exercise spaces, housekeeping, and common areas to gather, with safety and handicap features in place too, and social life is encouraged here with arts and crafts, games, educational and health classes, life-engaging activities, and wellness events, which help set a daily rhythm, because staying connected can really make a difference for folks living away from home, and the staff work with each resident and their family on a personalized care plan, keeping every voice involved in care decisions, and telehealth lets people get care right in the building when doctor visits outside aren't easy, and meals are planned with nutrition in mind, either in the dining room or in private rooms if that's more comfortable.

Northwest Nursing Center gets people in for short rehab stays, long-term care, and everything in between, and there's support for families through social media like Facebook or Messenger for updates and connections, though reviews suggest there may be room for improvement, so it's always wise to visit, ask questions, and see how it feels in person. Whether someone needs daily nursing, help with basic tasks, or programs to regain strength and well-being, this nursing home covers a good range of senior needs in a straight-forward setting without a lot of fuss, and folks looking for a simple, full-service option in Oklahoma City may want to have a look to see if it fits what they're after.
