    Caring small community, minor issues

I placed my mom in this small, 32-room community and overall I'm very pleased. The staff are genuinely caring, attentive and efficient - they treated her like family, the building is spotless and homey, and rooms have useful in-room appliances and accessible bathrooms. Meals (in-house chef), plenty of activities, and one-on-one attention kept her engaged and comfortable. Drawbacks: occasional understaffing/slow call responses, some communication hiccups (accents/late notices), limited capacity for higher medical needs, and recent price increases. Despite that, I felt she was safe, well cared for, and I would recommend it.

    About Morada Southridge

Morada Southridge offers a mix of independent living, assisted living, memory care, respite care, and skilled nursing for older adults, and you'll see staff available at all hours every day to help with daily tasks, medication management, and wellness checks, so someone's always nearby if a resident needs assistance, even in the middle of the night, and you won't have to worry if a nurse is on duty because there's a full-time licensed nurse around the clock to handle medical needs and coordinate care plans tailored to each person. The buildings recently got some upgrades to make things more comfortable and easier to get around, so there's better accessibility for everyone, and the outdoor spaces with gardens, patios, and walking paths give residents room to relax, sit with friends, or just enjoy the fresh air. People can pick from several floor plans, including studio apartments, deluxe suites, and one-bedroom setups, and they come with private bathrooms, kitchenettes or kitchens, walk-in closets, emergency call systems, cable, and Wi-Fi, and some allow pets so a resident's cat or dog can come along, which is a big relief for many. The community runs regular cleaning, laundry, and maintenance, and you're not left alone if cooking or housekeeping gets too hard, since those services come included. Meals are chef-prepared in a dining room and guests are welcome, and you see meals made for nutrition, but they don't forget about taste.

Morada Southridge has a long list of activities to keep residents physically, mentally, and spiritually active, from bingo and book club to Tai Chi, devotional services, and regular outings for those who want to get off the grounds, and there are group events, celebrations, and Resident Council Meetings so folks can be part of community decisions. Memory care services are there for seniors with Alzheimer's or other types of dementia, with programs and trained memory care staff focusing on safety, engagement, and dignity, and the facility even supports people and their families by offering counseling and running a podcast called "The Disappearing Mind" that tries to explain dementia and tips for coping.

The grounds include a residents' lounge, a card and game room, a beauty and barber shop, internet access throughout, a computer area, parking, spa services, and free transportation to errands and doctor appointments. Morada Southridge also earned awards for its friendly atmosphere and variety of activities, and both visitors and families often mention feeling safe and welcomed. The Military Veterans Program offers extra resources for those who served. Many living options aim to support independence as long as possible, and skilled care is right there if needs change, with the option for short-term stays during emergencies or when caregivers need a break. Morada Southridge is part of Discovery Senior Living, and state licensing and regular reviews make sure the place stays up to proper standards. The whole setup puts a strong focus on helping people age with a sense of purpose, comfort, and connection, with staff who know their business and neighbors you can count on for good company every day.
