    Caring staff, nice community, caveats

I moved my mom here and overall I'm grateful - the staff are warm, professional and go above and beyond, the one-bedroom layouts and bathrooms are spacious and the dining/chef get frequent praise. Meals were mostly good, transportation and activities are available (though offerings vary and were curtailed at times), and the community feels clean, bright and social. We did have a serious misassessment of my mother's needs early on that led to weight loss, but staff responded carefully and got her stabilized. Communication, front-desk responsiveness and staffing levels can be inconsistent, and there are extra fees to watch for, so it's not the perfect fit for everyone. I'd recommend it for families who prioritize caring staff and a pleasant setting but urge close oversight on medical needs and costs.

About Prestige Senior Living Beaverton Hills

Prestige Senior Living Beaverton Hills is a senior living community in a lodge-like building that features exposed wood beams and an open ceiling, designed to honor the Pacific Northwest and Oregon's timber history, and it's nestled by a creek not far from walking paths, gardens at AM Kennedy Park, and places like Beaverton Town Square and the Portland Golf Club, so there's always somewhere nearby for residents who want some fresh air or a nice walk. The community has 60 beds and covers a wide range of care needs, offering assisted living, adult day care, memory care for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, skilled nursing and rehabilitative care, as well as home health options, so people can find different levels of help as they age or as their needs change over time. There are apartment floor plans, with studios that have private bathrooms, kitchenettes, living areas, and weight-bearing grab bars and emergency call systems to support safety, and people can choose to have rental meals if they want.

Residents get help with daily tasks like dressing, bathing, hygiene, and medication management, and the community's staffed day and night by trained team members to keep everyone safe. The building has features like a gym, fitness center, theater room, game area, cozy resident lounges, a library, a private dining room for family gatherings, and a big patio, plus open common areas that make it easy for people to talk and build friendships. Pets are welcome, and residents get Wi-Fi, high-speed internet, and handicap accessibility, so folks can stay comfortable, connected, and be part of the community, even if they have different needs. Housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, repairs, landscaping, and linen services come included.

Programs like Energize exercise classes and fall reduction help support health, while wellness coaches offer different group activities and cognitive programs like Mind Masters and Ageless Grace® to keep people moving and thinking, and there's a Celebrations program focused on events, learning, and social gatherings to support healthy, well-rounded living. The social events calendar is full, with happy hours, fashion shows, car parades, and volunteer opportunities, and residents can join in religious services and the active resident council, making it easy to stay engaged in daily life if they want. Restaurant-style meals are served in the dining room and can be adjusted for dietary needs and preferences. Scheduled transportation is provided for errands, appointments, and outings, and the property's close to shops, medical clinics, and town amenities, which residents often appreciate.

For those living with memory loss, the community has award-winning memory care programs that create familiar, secure spaces to help reduce confusion and support those with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. There are also short-term retreat stays and coordinated hospice if needed, and for those still healthy and independent but wanting less hassle, independent living is possible, too. Some residents choose care in neighborhood homes with live-in caregivers, while others use home care services with trained aides for companionship and non-medical support. The atmosphere stays cozy and comfortable, meant to help everyone feel at home, meet people, and enjoy a full life with a little help where it's needed.
