Grace Place sits in Estacada, Oregon, and takes care of seniors by offering assisted living, memory care, respite care, and adult foster services, and while the place isn't huge, with space for up to 40 people and 30 apartments, folks can pick a studio or a one-bedroom suite where they can bring their own things and even have pets like cats and dogs. The staff runs evidence-based recovery programs for people with drug and alcohol addiction, using group therapy and vocational training so residents have the chance to learn and work on themselves, and they've got specialized care for Parkinson's, speech therapy, and diabetes, as well as continence and non-ambulatory care, plus there's always a registered nurse nearby and you get matched with a Resident Care Partner to help shape a care plan that's just for you. The apartments and common areas are built for safety and comfort, with wheelchair access, wide doors, grab bars in stall showers, illuminated entryways, in-room emergency response buttons, and a courtyard and walking paths so you can get outside a bit but stay safe, and there's even fireplaces in some lounges for relaxing with neighbors and an enclosed courtyard for secure outdoor visits, especially nice for folks who have memory challenges and might be prone to wandering. In the dining room, staff prepare every meal fresh, serve it, and clean up, and people can choose nutritious meals with vegetarian options and guest meal packages, and if someone needs help eating or has specific dietary needs for managing diabetes or swallowing difficulties, staff are ready to lend a hand. Grace Place doesn't forget about the mind, either, and they've got plenty of activity programs like arts and crafts, tai chi, bingo, dominoes, barbecues, scenic drives, offsite trips, gardening projects, and cultural events, and folks can relax with massage and facial wellness treatments. There's devotional services on site for those who want them, a library nook to read in, and a safe place to walk or just sit in the sun. Housekeeping is done for the residents, including dusting and vacuuming, and all-day snacks are put out, while the on-site pharmacy helps keep medication on track. If a family wants to come by and see the place, they can set up a visit, look at the apartments, and meet the staff and some of the other residents. Grace Place tracks and shares complaint data for transparency, as part of the ranking system managed by the Oregon Department of Human Services, and their Oregon license number is 70M032. The people running Grace Place focus on supporting everyone's independence, dignity, and choice, trying to make it a caring and peaceful place to live for folks in the 97023 area, with a sense of belonging and a chance to thrive in mind, body, and spirit.
Caring staff with some concerns
I placed my parent here and overall I'm impressed - the staff are personable, caring and attentive, call lights are answered promptly, and the facility feels clean, homey and welcoming to family. Meals are excellent (varied menu, nice dining room), rooms are spacious with large bathrooms, and the location is convenient. My concerns: move-in orientation could be better, occasional cleanliness issues in common areas (furniture not always cleaned, sometimes urine odor), spotty communication with families and undisclosed charges on the bill, plus a couple of staffing worries (one unhappy nurse, night-shift CNAs that made me uneasy). For the price it's generally a good place but I recommend visiting and asking about billing and nightly staff.
