Sun Ridge Retirement is an independent living community in Oregon with a friendly staff and a peaceful setting, and the place offers over 40 private apartments and several cottages, all designed to help seniors enjoy a retirement lifestyle that feels more like home, and these apartments come with wall-to-wall carpeting, personal bathrooms, kitchenettes, personal climate control, and include utilities like electricity, water, cable TV, and wireless internet, which a lot of seniors find very useful, and there are scheduled tours for anyone who wants to see the community, meet the staff, and talk to residents, and people who live here get three healthy meals each day with vegetarian and sugar-free dessert options for diabetics, along with a 24-hour beverage bar, and they can eat in the communal dining room or ask for guest meal options if family comes by, which is nice for visits. Sun Ridge Retirement allows small pets, and the gardens and landscaped grounds are great for walking or joining the gardening club, and the staff works hard to provide companionship through daily group and individual activities such as arts and crafts, music classes and live performances, literary groups, educational sessions, and other planned outings while keeping things secure through diligent safety protocols, a monitored emergency call system, and management always onsite. The Spark Lifestyle Program and Montessori-inspired activities encourage lifelong learning and engagement. They offer weekly housekeeping, linen, and laundry services, with apartments maintained by the community's team, so residents don't have to worry about upkeep, and things like salon, barber services, and library spaces are available. Each apartment and cottage has features to promote safety and comfort. Parking and guest parking are available, and people can use scheduled transportation for shopping, medical appointments, tours, and outings. Residents with dietary needs like diabetic, low-fat, or low-salt meals have options. For recreation, there are several rooms and lounges with cable and satellite TV, plus spaces for music, arts, crafts, reading, and relaxed chats. The community accepts Medicaid, Medicare, other insurance, checks, and credit cards, with an entry fee of $2,600. Sun Ridge Retirement stands out for pleasant surroundings, flexible apartment layouts, and a staff focused on getting to know residents as individuals, always aiming to keep life calm, safe, and active, and you'll find the people friendly, the atmosphere lively but supportive, and help available when or if you need it.

Welcoming independent living with caveats
I moved my mom in and so far I'm very pleased - the staff are family-like, compassionate and attentive, residents are friendly, the place is clean and well-kept, and the food and activities (including Bible study) are excellent. It's great for independent living with helpful move-in assistance and spacious, well-equipped cottages, but it's not a medical facility (no nurses/doctors) so it's not suitable for high medical needs. The atmosphere is welcoming, though the decor could use brightening/updating. Overall positive, but I'd confirm policies around Medicaid and high-need or special-case care before committing.
