    Attentive caregivers, alarming facility safety

I've seen both sides. The caregivers were top-notch-attentive, loving, respectful and professional; they answered questions, eased concerns, and truly made a difference. But parts of the facility felt prison-like (duct-taped doors, urine smell, dayroom turned into offices, closed hallways), and I witnessed/alleged signs of drug use and abuse, so I've called for an investigation and remain very concerned about resident safety.

    About Blue Mountain Care Center

Blue Mountain Care Center, also known as Blue Mountain Nursing Home, stands as a community-owned healthcare facility with 52 beds, serving seniors who need skilled nursing, rehabilitation, memory care, long-term support, restorative care, respite care, and adult day care, and while the place has gone through recent renovations that freshen up the rooms and shared areas with updated amenities, it still keeps a warm, home-like feeling with personally decorated living spaces that help residents stay comfortable, and the modern building has beautiful outdoor spaces and sits in a peaceful setting that looks out onto the landscape, which many residents and their families have said they appreciate, because it gives a sense of tranquility. Staff remain on hand all day and all night, including nurses and other professionals who help with everything from daily care to physical therapy, and the team works alongside local physicians from Blue Mountain Hospital to ensure residents get quick and reliable care if needed, which is important when those sudden health needs pop up and families want reassurance. Blue Mountain Care Center is Medicaid-certified and sticks closely with the Blue Mountain Hospital District, building strong ties in the community, and because of this connection, residents get direct access to hospital resources while still having the easygoing, slower days that come with small-town living. The facility puts a lot of focus on personalized care plans, so each resident gets help that fits their needs, from support with memory care programs to specialized rehabilitation services that aim to help seniors recover from illnesses or injuries, and staff organize a lot of activities, whether that's educational events, parties, fishing trips, picnics, or scenic drives, which keeps folks engaged and helps beat the boredom that can sometimes come with care centers. Blue Mountain Care Center also offers transportation for appointments around the area, barber and beautician services to help residents keep up their routines, and home-cooked style meals served daily in a comfortable setting, making sure people eat well and feel at home. Security measures are in place to protect residents, and staff members remain attentive and try to treat everyone with dignity, sticking with their mission to serve with love and respect, so whether someone stays for long-term care, comes in for respite relief, or takes part in adult day programs, there's a steady routine and a calm environment that makes life easier for both residents and their families.
