    Welcoming community with some inconsistencies

I was very impressed - welcoming, family-like and clean with spacious semi-private and private rooms, good value for the price, and lots of amenities (dining on every floor, in-house PT, salon, laundry, library/barber and activities). Staff were warm, caring and responsive, management involved, and care felt personalized; hospice and physician services available. My concerns: an unstaffed/unmonitored front desk and entrance raise security worries, housekeeping could be more consistent (vacuuming), activities felt dreary for some residents, and there were occasional lapses in attention. Overall I'm pleased and would recommend this community - I'd rate it 4/5.

    About Alexandria Manor

Alexandria Manor sits in Bethlehem, Nazareth, and Bath, Pennsylvania, and has been family-owned and operated for over 25 years, offering a range of care that covers assisted living, independent living, home care, memory care for those with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, and nursing home services all in a classic colonial-style building that gives off a home-like, comfortable feeling without being too large or crowded so you won't feel lost and staff can really pay attention to personal needs, since there's a compassionate team that handles medication management, help with bathing, dressing, and moving around, as well as daily living chores. Residents get to use their own private or semi-private room with a private bathroom if they want, and every room's got air conditioning, a telephone, and cable TV, all at no extra charge, and there's an emergency alert system beside the bed and in the bathroom so safety's always a thought, plus wheelchair access and full building safety features like monthly fire drills, CPR-certified staff, and pull-bell systems.

Meals are prepared by chefs and meal planners, and you get three meals a day, snacks included, with special diets like Kosher, diabetic, or low salt all taken care of, and restaurant-style dining means there's always someone to share a table with, and if you like to eat at odd times there's all-day dining options too, while the kitchen always keeps home cooking in mind, which suits residents who enjoy familiar, simple food. There's plenty for people to do, and Alexandria Manor features a barbershop and a beauty salon, a TV room, library, garden, activity and game rooms, spa/wellness room, music and arts spaces, as well as walking paths and outdoor spaces-so whether someone wants bingo, movie nights, live entertainment, arts and crafts, or scheduled resident-run activities organized by the staff or residents themselves, nobody really gets left with nothing to do. A fitness room and daily programs, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy on-site, give residents a good shot at staying active and enjoying daily life; residents or visiting family can take advantage of outdoor decks and green spaces, and there's transportation and parking help, so you don't need to be stuck inside if you don't want to be.

For people who might only need a short stay, there's respite care, and for those wishing to stay in their own homes, the home care team provides help and keeps seniors living safely and comfortably, often with the same attention and care as those in residence, thanks to trained aides familiar with what seniors need. The staff coordinates all the complicated things, from transition paperwork to moving services-and when you need lab work, X-rays, or a doctor, those are available within the building, so there's rarely a need to travel far for basic healthcare. Housekeeping, laundry, and dry-cleaning services all come included, and there's on-site pharmacy options with affordable medication rates, plus family support services so relatives don't have to worry too much about managing a loved one's care from afar.

Alexandria Manor is certified by the Department of Public Welfare and keeps a safe and secure environment for all residents, with specialized memory care programs, 12 to 16 hours of nursing care a day, and rooms designed for comfort and privacy-offering services at a monthly rate that aims to stay lower than some others, but with all the necessary amenities like Wi-Fi, furnished rooms (while still letting you bring your own things), large dining and living spaces, allergy-sensitive menus, and designated care options for people needing more attention or assistance. Alexandria Manor has received awards for activities and friendliness, and the community evaluation score sits at 8.0, which means families often feel good about the place after visiting. Tours are available, and there's someone around to answer questions, the aim really seems to be about keeping things calm, friendly, and practical for residents, families, and staff every day.
