    Great amenities staffing and privacy

I live here and appreciate the caring, friendly staff, plentiful activities (church services, bingo, piano), large bright rooms, beautiful grounds and a grand-hotel/country feel. Meals are good and on time, dining and community spaces are easy to access. My concerns are understaffing, a distant management attitude and limited medical coverage (doctor rarely on site), plus occasional disrespectful behavior and privacy worries about cameras. Overall: excellent amenities and atmosphere, but weigh the staffing/medical/privacy issues.

About The Meadows, A Park Home Personal Care Community

The Meadows, A Park Home Personal Care Community, sits on Warrensville Road just east of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, offering 64 beds with studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts in a peaceful countryside setting where families can still enjoy time together on the front porch or in the sun-filled courtyards and raised gardens, with plenty of room to wander on secure walking paths or sit outside when the weather's nice, and you know, The Park Home-been around since 1940-now goes by The Meadows, and does feel grand like a hotel inside, with well-kept common spaces, a big dining room, outdoor spaces, and ever-present welcoming staff described as kind and helpful, always ready to help with whatever comes up, whether it's moving in or just sorting out daily matters. Residents get three meals a day prepared and served in a restaurant-style dining room, with special meal choices for diabetes or special diets, and you'll always find someone available, whether you need help bathing, dressing, taking medicines, or just getting to daily activities, with 24-hour supervision, a 24-hour call system, and 12-16 hour nursing plus on-site skilled nursing and an LPN on hand all day and night, and a house doctor who visits each month, so health monitoring is covered.

Folks living here can bring familiar things to make their rooms cozy, like a refrigerator, and all suites have air-conditioning, cable or satellite TV, bathrooms, kitchenettes, Wi-Fi, phone, and fully furnished spaces, and there's always help with chores thanks to housekeeping and laundry services, housekeeping folks keep everything tidy, and linens get swapped out on schedule. The community features a beauty salon for haircuts or barber visits, and there's a fitness room, game room, recreation room, small library, computer center with fast internet, and common lounges, so there's always something to do or a spot to just sit and rest, and the wellness center provides spaces for both quiet time and group programs. For organized fun, residents can pick from bingo, brain games, playing pool, cards, arts and crafts, scrapbooking, exercise classes, offsite outings, musical groups, visiting entertainers, and resident-run activities, plus devotional and planned day trips, and there are always other folks around for games or talking, so it's easy for residents to socialize or keep busy if they want to.

Outdoors, you'll find landscaped courtyards, patios, a garden, and walking paths, and there's resident parking and non-medical transportation when needed, with scheduled rides for shopping, appointments, or community outings, always run by the community itself, whether you need to get out or stay in. For those who need more, memory care is available for Alzheimer's and memory loss, as well as incontinence, diabetic care, and support for folks needing help with transfers or mobility, all with close staff presence. There are also respite care stays for short-term needs, and a hospitality suite where out-of-town visitors can feel comfortable, and all of this comes with concierge services to help residents and families navigate daily life, schedule things, or just solve problems as they come up. The air purification system, called AtmosAir, adds another layer of safety these days, and there's a wireless emergency call system for any emergencies.

The Meadows offers assisted living, independent living, memory care, skilled nursing, and CCRC services, all licensed by the state, so there's a wide range of healthcare and personal care options depending on what's needed as life changes. The average resident review is quite low, with a rating of 1 out of 10, and that's something to keep in mind, but the facility did get named Best Senior Living Facility in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette Readers Choice Awards in 2021. The Meadows remains an option for older adults wanting to stay independent but needing extra help or wanting to give up the worry of home upkeep, and the setting is designed to offer safety, comfort, and a bit of the social life that can make a big difference in the later years.
